It was a bright and sunny day in Nassau as I opened the curtains in my small home allowing the sun to bring it to life. It was the same day after day here on the island since Edward had set sail nearly four months ago leaving me behind to worry about him. Was he safe? Is he still alive? Does he not want to come back to me? Where the questions that I would ask myself every day and every day I would come to the conclusion that I couldn't give up on him, but today was different. Today, I felt longer than before and the only thing I wanted was Edward.

Normally I would go down to the Old Avery and talk with Anne when I would feel this way but today I couldn't look at her or anyone else for that matter. I was afraid that if I did I would fall apart in front of everyone. Edward had never been away for this long at once before and I was broken, afraid that he would never return to me again. But I couldn't let that consume me. I know in my heart that Edward will always come back to me.

The days passed on and I spent them reading, sewing and cooking for one. "(Y/N)?" I heard Anne Bonny's voice as she knocked on the door. I stood from the blanket I was sowing and opened the door to find Anne with a very troubled look on her face. "I wanted to come by and check on you. You haven't been down to the tavern in a few days I was begging to get worried about you."

"I'm fine, Anne. I'm just worried about Edward." I said and invited her in. "He's never been away for this long before." I closed my door then set back down to continue my sowing. I wasn't ignoring her, I just didn't want to talk that much about anything.

"I understand, (Y/N). But you can't stay inside all the time. You know Edward wouldn't want you to be like this." She said and I stopped and looked at her.

"You're making it sound like he's dead. He is not dead, Anne." I said angerly.

"I'm not saying that he is dead," She said but her eyes said everything. "All I'm saying is that even if he was dead he wouldn't want you to mop around all the time." She sighed and set a bottle of spiced wine on the table. "It's getting late and I have to get home but I bought this for you." Was all she said before she left me alone again.

How could she even think that he was dead? I asked myself as I stood up and looked out the window. "I know you're still out there and I know that you are coming back to me. I'll wait as long as I have too." I opened the wine and took a sip savouring the taste on my tough and then I took another and decided to call it a night.

I slept soundly for some time and then I was woken with the strang feeling of someone watching me. I climbed out of bed and pulled my robe around me as I fumbled in the dark to light a lantern. The curtains were still opened and my window as well letting the cold night air in. As I went to close it I looked out to the harbor and nearly began to cry when I was the Jackdaw. "(Y/N),"

There it was, the soft and loving voice of Edward. I turned around and looked at the man that I had fallen in love within only a short amount of time. I examined his body to find that he was covered head to toe with dirt and sweat and then up to his face to see that he had a new scar along his cheek. I walked to him slowly and placed my hands on his chest and slid them up to cup his face as he put his around my waist and already began to rome my body. "Why do you always come back to me with a new scar?"

"A pirates life, love." He answered then kissed me with a passion that I missed. I throw my arms around his neck and kissed him back as he lifted me up and laid me on the bed. "I've missed you, (Y/N)." He growled in my ear and I melted into his arms.

"I've missed you as well, my love." Of course, it wasn't long until Edward's hand my robe pulled off and thrown to the floor and the rest of my clothes soon to join it.
