Fast forward a few weeks, and I'm sitting in the car with my husband on the way down to meet the Authonomy Team at HarperCollins.

Nervous? God yes! Excited? You betcha! After the initial excitement of launch day, Undertaking Love had settled down on Amazon and seemed to be holding its own in the charts, garnering good reviews along the way.

As we approached London, my mobile started bleeping madly. Message. Another message. And then a third. Opening them up, I could barely believe what I was reading. My second self published book Knight & Stay had just made the USA today best-sellers list! Oh my freakin' lord! I was on my way to a meeting at HarperCollins, and then that too?  It was almost too much. I reckon I had the biggest smile in the UK that day, it truly was a special one. Meeting the HC team was just lovely.

The HC building is kind of hidden from the street, and then you go inside and it's just as you'd think it might be. Glam and cool and very very white and open. Lots of glass and open plan levels, sort of like the most glamorous prison ever! There's books everywhere (as you'd imagine), just being there thrilled my heart.

It turned out I'd been wrong about my smile being the widest it could be on the way down to London. It was even wider on the way back, because I'd left the meeting knowing that the reception to Undertaking Love had been good enough for it to be taken forward into paperback.  I'd crossed my fingers nightly that that might happen, so to know that I'd be able to hold Undertaking Love in my hands and hopefully see it in book stores... well, it was a dream come true.

Things really couldn't get any better than that, could they?
