Lady Gaga's POV:

I was released form the hospital and with Madison and Taylor's help we lugged all of the fans' get well gifts home. I noticed the calendar on the way to my room. It was November 4th. I had a show date tomorrow in Indianapolis. How am I going to tell Madison?

After we dropped the stuff off in my room, that I was going to organize and put where they belonged later, because I wanted to talk to Madison, I told Taylor that I needed to talk to Madison alone. He nodded and left. We sat on my bed.

"What, mom?"

"Well, sweetie, do you know what date it is?"

"Umm...no. What date is it?"

"November 4th."

"What?! OMG, you have to go back on tour tomorrow."

"Oh. You already know."

"Duh, I'm a big fan of yours, remember? You're my idol, of course I know when you're on tour."

"I thought it would be hard to break the news to you, but I guess not."

"Can I come on tour with you?"

"You have to go to school."

"Mom...come on. I'm graduating in June. It'll be fine. I can have Alicia share my homework over Google Drive and do my homework on the road. And same with the class notes. Please. I'm sure my teachers will make accommodations for me."

"I think you should ask your teachers first."

"But, mom. You'll already be tour by then."

"I'm off on the 6th, if your teachers agree, you can call me and I'll come pick you up."

"Ok. Will Taylor still be here?"

"Fuck. I'm not sure if he'll be here on the 6th."

"It's ok. I can take care of myself for a day. I basically had to take care of myself for years now, because my parents were always fighting."

"Ok, baby. But I'll be worried about you, call me when you get home from school."

"Of course, I'll have to tell you to pick me up."

"You're really sure about this, aren't you?"

"Yeah."

"I love you, Maddie."

"I love you too, mom."

We decided to play chess to pass the time, since she really enjoyed it, and I wanted to try it out. Unsurprisingly, since I'd never played it before she won every time. But I was getting better each time.  She said if I kept practicing I'd be able to beat her in no time.

But I didn't care, I just loved the quality time I was spending with her, not focusing on some serious, dark topic. I wish things could stay like this, but I knew I still needed to recover from Brian's behavior toward me while I was trapped with him.
