I opened my eyes and looked around the room. They were everywhere, their faces filled the room from top to bottom and all around me on the floor. I sat perfectly still with my knees hugged closely to my chest and my back pressed up against the wall.

Please come save us. Please come save us. Please come save us. I chanted over and over in my head even though I knew it was useless because she’d just left a few minutes ago and won’t be back for hours.

I heard muffled voice coming from outside, one deep and one small and slightly high pitched. I wanted to be out there instead of in in here, I wanted to help her and to stop what was going to happen but I couldn’t.

I heard a thud and then sound of someone crying, don’t cry Kailey, you’ll only make it worse.

"Shut up!" He shouted and the crying immediately stopped. My heart was beating fast and loudly in my ears as I waited for the screaming to begin. It seemed like a long time but I knew it was only a few minutes before she started crying horribly loud and screaming for my name over and over.

Tears filled my eyes, blurring my vision as I covered my ears to block out the screaming but it wasn’t working, I could still hear her loud and clear.

"Kellin!" she cried and my eyes snapped open, I couldn’t take it anymore, I couldn’t take her screaming.

I got to my feet slowly and looked around me. Their ghostly white faces and terrifyingly huge red lips stared back at me, my dads ugly clown suite was hanging on the back of the door but instead of making me smile and laugh with joy it haunted my dreams and made me back away with fear.

"Kellin! H-Help me!" Kailey cried again and I closed my eyes and ignored all the faces staring back at me as I walked slowly towards the door. I stood in front of the tall demon, it’s smell of alcohol and cigarettes wafted around the room. How could people find this thing amusing?

My sistersn cries for help pulled me back to reality and my heart started pounding at my chest wanting to escape as I reached out a hand to turn the door knob. My hand was shaking as I twisted it slowly, I hadn’t forgotten what happened last time I had tried to help her let’s just say that I had to tell my mom that I’d fallen down the stairs.

I breathed out a sigh of relief as shut the door behind me, shutting away the rulers of my nightmares and quickly ran through the house looking for my sister. It wasn’t hard to find them, they were in the living room and the scene that was in front of me made me so fucking angry.

"I said shut up!" A big rough hand came down Kailey’s cheek causing it to turn red instantly with pain. I flinched and felt myself getting angrier, Kailey looked at me over his shoulder and I held a finger to my lips to tell her to be quiet.

She cried quietly, years falling down her cheeks and it was hard for me to watch her in so much pain. I moved slowly trying not to make a sound as I grabbed hold of my moms favourite vase and then quickly brought it down at the back his head with all the strength I had.

Kailey screamed as he fell forward on top of her and rushed to move him and set her free.

"Are you okay?" I asked wrapping my arms around her tightly as she cried into my shoulder and nodded my head. a low groan from the floor pulled us apart and I was scared for a moment that he’d wake up but he didn’t.

"Come on, let’s go before he wakes up" I held her waist and helped her walk as she was finding it hard to do so as a result of previous events.

We walked outside and when I saw how dark it was I almost freaked. Kailey was still crying as we walked down the dark quiet streets, I wasn’t sure exactly where we were going but I knew we couldn’t stay there anymore.

We were walking for about 30 minutes until we came across a phone box, Kailey looked tired so I sat her down on a bench nearby and went into the phonebox. I had a few coins on me so I decided to use them, I only had enough money to make one phone call and I only knew one number.

"Please pick up, please pick up" I whispered to myself whilst keeping an eye on Kailey who had fallen asleep on the bench. The phone rang a few times and nobody picked up, I’d rang this number enough times in the past two years to know how many rings it took until the it went to voicemail.

Four, five, six.

"Please please please" I closed my eyes as tears pricked them, only a few rings left until it went to voicemail.

Eight, ni-

"Hello?" a woman’s voice answered and my breath caught in my throat, she answered, oh my go I can’t believe she answered. "Helloo?" the voice came again and I cleared my throat.

"Mom? I-it’s Kellin" my voice shook slightly as I fought the urge to start crying.

"Kellin?" she sounded shocked, well she would be wouldn’t she.

"Me and Kailey need your help" I said letting out a sob, "please come and help us mom"
