"Don't worry, it's only for a couple of months Kellin" I nodded my head at my mother and she smiled at me before planting a small kiss on my cheek. At the mere age of 11 I hardly knew any better than to listen to what my mom said and do everything she told me to.

That's why when she had told me that me and Kailey were visiting our estranged father 'for a few months' I had happily smiled and believed her.

"Come on, let's go, the taxi is waiting" I picked up my small bag of toys and followed my mom out of the house and towards the black car that awaited us in the driveway.

"Get in the car Kellin, I won't be a minute" she threw my suitcase into the trunk of the car then I watched her as she retreated back into the house to fetch my sister. Kailey and I were only a year apart yet she was always treated as a baby, being the youngest she would be spoiled on any day that wasn't her birthday and even more so on her actual birthday.

"You okay there kid?" The taxi man turned around to face me and pressed my back into the cool leather seat and nodded my head quickly.

"Right, all set" my mom said placing a half asleep Kailey beside me and then hopping into the front seat of the car.

*few hours later*

"Say goodbye to mommy" my father said from the door, he was big and although he was a little tubby he could easily be mistaken for muscly.

"Bye mommy!" Kailey waved excitedly at the car that was now speeding away down the road, she seemed happy to be here and completely oblivious to the fact that our mother has just abandoned us.

"Come one kids, those burgers aren't going to make themselves" we entered the house and Kailey ran straight into the kitchen, squealing happily for burgers. That girl could eat and eat and she'd never put on weight.

"Are you okay son?" My dads deep voice asked, he knelt down in front of me and I couldn't help but notice his eye colour. They were the same as mine only slightly darker and unnerving.

"Yes" I replied moving my hair out of my face, I was long due for a haircut but my mom liked it long so she hardly took me to the barbers.

"As soon as we're done with those burgers, maybe we could play with some cars" he smiled "You like cars Kellin?"

I nodded my head and smiled even though I wasn't too crazy about them, but it was a nice feeling knowing that he'd gotten me cars.

"Kellin! Kellin give it to me it's mine!" Kailey was whining down my ear for the toy she claimed was 'hers'. Since when did she play with action figures?

"Keelliiinn!" she whined again in her annoyingly high pitched voice.

"No kailey, this is my toy" I said raising my arm up in the air so she couldn't reach.

"Give it to me!" she yelled and she started hitting my chest with her small fists. She might have been tiny for her age but she could throw a punch when she wanted to, I pushed her away from me but she just came straight back and kicked me in the leg.

"Give me the toy!" She whined again and out of pure anger I lifted the hard plastic superman toy high into the air before bringing it down on her, hitting the left side of her arm.

I hardly thought about it, I just did it. She annoyed me so much sometimes and I often wondered how much she could get on my nerves. The next thing I knew, Kailey was screaming and holding her arm in pain and the sound of quick heavy footsteps coming up the stairs had me running away from the door and towards a crying Kailey.
