Caelum's P.O.V
Why had I kissed her? Now she sat there with that smug look on her face. I had wanted that kiss more than anything and I thought she felt the same way. Obviously she didn't and so there was a simple solution. Ignore her and be an absolute jerk. Forget the kiss ever happened. It was working now. What kiss?
"I think you past Amber's turn."
"I'm glad somebody who has never even lived around here can tell me where the hell to go." I growled.
"Sorry." She whispered and turned towards the window. I stared at her beautiful flowing brown hair.
I tensed up on the wheel, holding inside my apology. I shifted in my chair and turned on my turning single.
"Was I right?"
"No, the turn is here."
"I think you're lying."
"Will you shut-up! I'm not lying and that kiss was nothing!" Why'd I have to bring up the kiss?
"That kiss was what we both wanted and you know it."
"Both of us?" I countered.
"Both of us." She agreed.
"Then why'd you pull away."
"Fear, my last serious boyfriend was.... less than amazing."
"Boyfriend? What was his name? Social Security number? Address?"
"Calm down, he wasn't that bad and look who's turning protective."
"I'm not protective." I growled.
"If we're going to be at least friends you have to chill it with the attitude."
"I'll lose mine when you lose yours."
"Deal."
"Why can't you just not argue sometimes."
"I've lived in New York all my life, arguing is a second language."
"Down South we don't have that problem."
"Down South there is no one to argue with. Everyone has known each other since they were in diapers."
"Maybe, I not from Dohage."
"Where are you from?"
"Even deeper south, I'll take you there some day."
"I'm looking forward to it." She smiled.
"Just.... don't tell Amber about this."
"About what?"
"About me taking you to my home, the kiss, everything."
"Why not?"
"We use to date."
"Date?"
"Yeah, we both hated it though."
"Why? Amber is a good person."
"It's not that, we just weren't compatible."
"Oh, I guess that makes sense. I just always thought country people liked country people."
"What the hell is that suppose to mean?" I hissed. "God, you're just like every other city person. Completely absorbed in yourself and don't give a damn bout nobody else."
"That's not true, that's not what I meant."
"Just leave me alone." I snapped and retuned to the road. I didn't want to have a temper with her, but my temper wasn't something I could control and she looked way to pissed for some cheesy apology.
