Chapter 43

Lily's P.O.V

I rolled over in bed to be met by Caelum's grey eyes and his devious smile. I stroked his cheek with my thumb and he kissed my lips softly.

"Up early. You work today?"

Caelum shook his head.

"I took today off."

"Why?" I desperately tried to search my head for some important event today and nothing came to mind. I was sure Caelum must have gotten the dates mixed up and took off for nothing.

"Cae, nothing is going on today."

"I know, I'm making a new anniversary."

"Of what?" I chuckled.

"The day I asked you to be my wife."

I fumbled for words for a few minutes and then finally managed to squeeze something out.

"What?"

"When we were getting Caily checked on they kept calling you Mrs. McGriffin and then I realized, I've never asked you to marry me. If I have, I've forgotten."

"Yeah, I can't remember you asking."

He slid off the bed and walked to my side. He pulled my legs from under the covers sat them in front of him.

"Lily will you marry me?"

"Of course I will Caelum."

I jumped into his arms and he spun me around until I was dizzy. I thought about all the plans I would have the make now that I was in engaged. I thought about Caily as a flower girl and Amber as my maid of honor.

I was even thinking so far into the future that I wondered if Caelum and I could double with Mark and his 'girlfriend'. Probably wouldn't happen but it was a refreshing thought.

I kissed Caelum and ran to Caily's room. I picked her up and began spinning her around and kissing her cheek.

She didn't understand what was happening but I think somewhere in her baby brain we were all going to be together as a family now.

Author's Note

I don't know you guys I think this might be the last chapter before the epilogue. It has kind of an end feel to it and I feel like if I continue it I'll be continuing a pointless story. I mean this is chapter 43. So this might be the end, but it also might not be the end.

I'm so confused right now.
