I laid in my room with Rose as she slept in my arms. They said they had to wait an hour for everyone to come back.
The first one to come in was Melvin. He seen Rose and a wide smile appeared on his face. He sat next to me. "She beautiful." he said and I nodded.
"She is." I said and Ricardo looked at her.
"Can we take the test now?" he said and Melvin looked at him.
"Damn man just take this Shit in cause once them papers come and say you ain't the father don't be looking at my baby." Melvin said and Ricardo sucked his teeth.
"Imma go get a doctor." he said and he walked out. Melvin shook his head and just looked at the baby.
"She like a splitting image of you." he said and I smiled.
"Thanks." I said and he nodded. I can tell he wanted to hold her but he knew he couldn't get attached.
A knock came on the door. Melvin went and opened it and Dominic rushed in. "Baby are you ok." he said and sat next to me. I nodded and he looked at the baby. He smiled and chuckled. "Wow!!" he smiled and tried to take her.
"Aye man." Melvin said. "Not until the DNA test." he said and Dominic sucked his teeth and sighed.
"What's her name?" Dominic asked.
"Rose Toya Washington." I said and he looked at me.
"Hell Naw she look like a Ashley." he said and I looked at him.
"First off this is my baby and I can name her any name I want." I said and he looked at me.
"Im the father so we naming her Ashley." he said and Melvin stood up.
"Man she said Rose. Its a good name for her."
"Who the fuck asked you?" Dominic yelled and then the baby started to cry.
"Shhhh baby calm down." I said to sooth her back to sleep.
"You to out!" Toya whispered yelled and they walked out.
The doctor came in while they were leaving. "DNA test." he said.
"The three guys standing outside." I said and he nodded. Then he walked outside. I sighed and looked at Toya.
"Well I guess they are about to see who the father is." I said and she sighed.
"Well who ever it is they better take good care of my girl." she said and I giggled and nodded.
"Trust me they arm." I said and she nodded.
We stayed in the room and watched TV and played with Rose. Well we attempted to all she did was sleep. But I did the same.
Soon the guys came back and sat down watching the baby. "So when you come home imma spend the night ight." Dominic said and Melvin looked at him. He mugged him.
"Aye man why you trying to sleep over there for? We don't even know if that's your baby yet." Melvin said and I looked between the two.
"Shut up the both of you. No one is sleeping at my house ok. Everyone go home and relax until the results come back." then Dominic's phone rung. He got up and walked out the room.
I laid in bed and just tried to go back to sleep. Soon I did. It was like the best sleep I had.
A few days later I was being wheeled out the hospital. I got in Rick's car and he drove me and Toya home.
We had stop stop by the store to get food cause a girl was hungry. Then we went home.
I sat in my bed with Rosa as she laid on my chest. We both stared at each other. Its like we both were talking to each other without words. I loved it. I smiled and she just stared.
