Another dull sound was heard as a bullet sunk into the side of the animals cranium. Luther watched the creature turn its head back inhumanly fast, its massive body sliding a bit due to the snow. "Ah!?!", cried out Luther as he was pushed along thanks to the creature and its sliding frame.
A loud snarl erupted from the mouth pit of the foul beast as it lunged towards its attacker. Luther got up as best as he could, his vision blurry from the rush of being chased. He was sure he probably hit his head on something as well, but he noticed something and he panicked. "W-what!?!", his voice was shaky as his head throbbed. "John!?! What are you doing!?!", yelled a sore Luther.
"I will lead the beast away! Save my son!?! I know these woods!", yelled John as he ran with the beast close behind. "John!?!", screamed Luther as he watched the beast chase John down. Luther weakly moved to Derrik's body and lifted him up as he slowly walked back to John's house. He was unaware of the blood running down the side of his head. Luther glanced back with a frustrated look as he worried about John, that gave him enough determination as he pushed his tired body forward fast.
He didn't care if he was dizzy or felt sick to his stomach, he would not live with himself if another person were to die by that monster. Derrik was out cold, horrible wounds covered his entire frame. Luther was actually worried that he could be carrying a dead man seeing how badly he was injured. "Hey is there a doctor anywhere?", asked Luther the moment he was close enough to the search party of people.
Luther watched as the party begun working hard to help Derrik, he quickly turned around to make his way back to John. The rifle he was given must of been knocked out of his hands, either that or he lost it once the beast was after him. He had no weapons but he could careless about that! John was in danger, and he was surely not going to let another victim fall to the force of that monster! The facility made that beast and he knew nothing of it. In a sense, he was to blame for the creature as well.
Though, he didn't make it he was surely going to stop it! The facility wasn't going to be responsible so he may as well be the responsible one! Luther however was grabbed by someone and once he turned around did his eyes go wide. Speaking of the facility, the boss himself was before him with a face full of anger.
Black cars and trucks were pulling into the farms driveway and many people were running around in a panic. A ambulance was having a hard time pulling in thanks to the mass amount of vehicles in its way. "What did I tell you!", hissed his boss. Luther scowled at the one who he guessed made that creature, "Forget what you said! Many people are in danger! Can't you see that!?!"
His boss frowned with a look that could kill, "No! You listen!?! People can be replaced but this creature can't! We finally broke all limits! The last thing we need is someone to come in and ruin it for everyone!?!" Luther scoffed, "Open your eyes!?! Do you even hear yourself!?!" Luther blinked the moment he felt a strong impact hit his stomach. The pain was dull but it hurt more seeing that his body was extremely sore. "What the hell!?!", groaned Luther as he glared at his boss who was walking away. "Spread out! Leave nothing unturned!", yelled his boss. "Malcolm think rationally!", groaned Luther slowly recovering from the blow to his gut.
Luther watched and cussed under his breath seeing his boss completely ignore him. As he slowly recovered he was grabbed by two men. "Hey! What are you doing!?!", growled Luther. Malcolm stood there watching his men take Luther to one of the black vehicles. "You can't do this!", yelled Luther as he struggled to break free from the hands that kept their hold on him.
"We can't have you ruining this.", was the last thing Luther heard from his boss as the doors slam on him and locking him in.
A red impala drove up into a driveway of a nicely looking brick house, the door opened of the vehicle as Zack stepped out with two suitcases. "Thanks for the ride Mom!" Shannon smiled at her son, "You guys behave!" Zack laughed before closing the door and waving to his mother and brothers who were in the back seat. Zack then quickly took his bags and walked up to the porch of his friends house.
Zack knocked on the door and waited for it to open, once it did he couldn't help but smile. "Hey Samantha!", he spoke to her. Samantha smiled back, her brunette hair over her shoulder, "Hey! You ready to have fun?" Zack nodded as he walked in and then looking at Samantha did he notice what she was wearing. A white sweater that showed her shoulders, and blue skinny jeans. She looked beautiful while he merely wore a normal black T-shirt with a white Columbia coat and black sweatpants. Samantha giggled as she closed the door, "Nick is excited about this sleepover! I guess he has a few plans up his sleeves?" Zack laughed a bit, "Doesn't he always have a plan up his sleeves?" Samantha giggled, her green eyes closing as she laughed. "True!"
Zack walked further in and was brotherly hugged by a pair of arms. He gasped and laughed as he was put into a headlock. Nick chuckled as he let him go, his chestnut brown eyes closing. "About time you showed up!" Zack smirked as he put his bags down, "Just be glad I came." Nick laughed as he placed his hands on his buzz cut hair of brown. "I am glad my dude!"
Zack grinned looking at Nick and Samantha, he was also aware that this maybe the last time in a long time he may hang with Nick. Nick had enrolled in the Army and sometime next year he would be gone for a long time. It was sad to say but he was happy for Nick. Zack was proud of him much like anyone would be. "So? Are you going to share your plans with us?", teased a smiling Samantha. "Oh no! If I shared them now you guys would be bored!", snickered a smiling Nick.
Zack laughed looking at a playful looking Samantha who pretended to be pouting. Nick laughed as he looked at the clock in his living room, "Now we wait for the rest of the crew." Samantha giggled, "Jason and Bridget will be here soon!" Zack smiled looking excited for his fun time with his friends.
The air was lowering in temperature as the day continued at its regular pace. Gray colored clouds began to form as a indication of what was to come soon. Zack sat in the living room with his friends, the other two showed up not far behind from Zack. Bridget was teasing Jason about something, their conversations always seemed to go on for hours. Samantha was hugging her knees as she giggled, Nick on the other hand seemed to bring up such funny jokes about the two. Zack would have to call his mother around 7:30. It was 5 o'clock now and the day showed that by looking a bit darker outside.
Zack however couldn't stop thinking about his father, something had happened at the place his father worked at. His father said he would be back quickly and yet he hadn't came back. Zack hoped his father didn't lose his job. He told Will and Thomas that everything would be okay but he didn't know what was happening. Maybe he shouldn't of said anything?
Zack sighed to himself before glancing at Samantha who seemed so engrossed in the conversation. He smiled a bit watching her before deciding to send a text to his father. He wanted to at least check up on his father. He blinked though when his message didn't send. Zack grew a bit worried as he stared at his cellphone.
"Zack? What's up?", he heard Nick ask.
