It's the first day of school- senior year.
"Will you be all right walking home by yourself?" Emma's dad John asked her.
"Dad, I'll be fine, really don't worry, it's not that far," Emma rolled her eyes as she opened the car door to get out.
"Well if you have any problem what so ever call me."
"I will," Emma promised. She slid her bag over her shoulder and closed the car door.
"Niall should be around somewhere right?" John asked before putting the car into drive.
"Yeah dad, don't worry I'll be ok, it's not my first day of school, I know how this works," Emma shook her head at him.
"It's your first day at this school."
"They are all the same dad, popular kids, losers, and invisibles just like me.." The last part Emma whispered to herself so her dad won't be able to hear.
As he drove off she turned and took in the school's view.
This school wasn't any different from the other ones she was at, only maybe slightly smaller.
There were the pretty girls with expensive clothes and cars, their boyfriends on a leash by their sides.
Across from them were the Geeks, the ones who when the time comes will have good jobs, making enough money to buy whatever their heart desires remembering those pretty girls who put them down and making sure to make up for their loser days.
The skaters were not far, and the potheads. Yep, same as every other school.
Emma composed her hold to her sketchbook which didn't fit into her bag and made her way through the school gates.
"Emma! Over here!" Niall, Emma's cousin waved from across the yard. He was sitting with another boy and girl. Emma smiled waving back, pacing in his direction.
She passed the pretty rich girls who eyed the pink streak in her hair. The streak was barely noticeable since it wasn't in her top layers of hair, but since she had her hair up in a messy bun some of it showed through her dark brown hair. They also eyed her skinny jeans, over sized top, and the dark purple Dr. martens on her feet. But Emma didn't pay attention to them or their looks learning long ago not to care. However not paying attention to what was going around her, only looking ahead to where she was headed caused her to collide into something, making her drop the sketchbook ,and making the bag slip of her shoulder and to the floor spreading all her belongings around.
"Damn," Emma mattered to herself bending down to collect her things.
"Fuck- I'm sorry, but you should be watching where you're going," A deep voice hissed. Her eyes shot up to find pretty green eyes staring back at her, they had hardness in them, but yet they twinkled with some humor, maybe the fact he was holding one of her tampons in his hand was the reason.
"Gosh," She blushed snatching it from his hand and burying it deep in her bag, "I'm sorry," She muttered quickly collecting the rest of her things. She got to her feet as the green eyed boy picked up her sketchbook. He straightened from his kneeling position h opened it up and looked through it.
"This is your work?" He looked down at her, being so much taller than she.
"What's going on here?" Niall appeared by Emma's side before she had a chance to answer the boy.
"I fell over," She mumbled back to Niall, who took the sketchbook out of the boy's hand and picked up his cousin's bag.
Niall held on to Emma's arm as he turned her away from the boy, not giving him another glance.
