Chapter 12 – Bye bye snow trip, hello Niagara Falls
JILLIAN’S POV
I woke up the next morning feeling tired. I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. Then I realized that my period was due yesterday. My heartbeat started to accelerate. Oh no, what if I’m pregnant. No, no I’m not pregnant, I’m paranoid. It’s only a day late, things like this happen, right? What if that creepy suit rapist guy actually raped me? I would have felt it though, right? I mean, I didn’t black out… right?
“It’s okay, it’s fine, just don’t freak out Jillian, do not freak out.” I tell myself.
Woopsies, too late.
***The next day***which is Sunday, by the way***
The next day, Jenn and Stef came by the house for a while. Jenn was on my comforter, Stef was sitting cross-legged on the floor and I was sprawled onto my bed.
“I’m so excited for tomorrow!” I chirped.
“Yeah, me too!” Jenn exclaimed.
“This snow trip is going to be awesome!” Stef sang.
“I love tubing!” I gushed. “Whoever hasn’t gone tubing is seriously missing out.”
“Plus, this year we’re finally in the same bus!” Jenn squealed.
Every year, the three of us get separated into different buses on our snow trip up north. It isn’t really the end of the world, but it’s obviously more fun to be with your best friends.
Suddenly I felt something warm against my thighs and my lower back started aching.
“Crud.” I muttered.
I ran to the bathroom and shut the door. I reluctantly peeked at my underwear.
“Hey Jill, is everything okay in there?” My friends ask.
“Oh, just peachy.” I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm. I sighed. Great, I’m on my period. I quickly changed and washed my hands. As I walked back into my room, the girls looked at me expectantly.
“Period” I shrugged.
They looked at me sympathetically and resumed their chatting. We talked about lots of things, this new girl at school, boys, fashion etc. It soon became dark and the girls had to go home. We all exchanged hugs at the doorway.
