Chapter 15- Hot damn

Dan’s POV

I might have exited the house but the girls were yelling loud enough for me to hear them. I couldn’t help but feel hurt at what Jillian had said. I ruined her life? And she would never forgive me? That hurt even more.

Not that I care.

Yes I f*cking do!

No I don’t.

Keep telling yourself that Dan.

Stupid conscious. Always bloody right.

Well here’s the deal then, I’m not going to sit on the sidelines anymore while Jillian hates on me. She can hate me all she wants once I know the reason. Well, hopefully she won’t hate me forever.

When she walked out of the house, her face was still slightly red from the screaming match with her sister.

“Hey. Sorry about that.”

“Yeah, what was that about?” I prodded.

“My sister’s just PMSing all over the place.” She chuckled.

Alright, I got to tip my hat off to her. She has very convincing lying skills. If I didn’t know any better, I would have believed her without thinking twice.

“Right. In that case, shall we go to the restaurant?” I asked, offering her my arm.

“We shall.” She smiled, looping her arm in mine.

I couldn’t help but feel the tingles shoot through my arm. Abruptly, she pulled back.

But I wanted her to keep holding me.

Wait… I did?

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

“I just remembered John is supposed to pick me up.”

“Oh.” My face fell a little in disappointment. “Wait who’s John?”

“Remember that new guy Jenn brought to a party once?”

I grunted, felling my muscles tense. “You mean that kid that kissed you?”

“That would be the one.”

“You like him?”

She choked and started coughing. “Oh no. No, I don’t think so.” She thought for a while. “No, he’s more like a best friend, or a brother to me.”

I smirked.

“See you later then.”

I hopped into my car and left.

Jillian’s POV

Is it just me or is Dan really weird?

Just then, John pulled up his car in my driveway. I climbed into the passenger seat and gave him the address.

**************************

When Dan said that a lot of people from school would be here, he really wasn’t joking. The restaurant was packed with teenagers. Everyone was well dressed but that might have to do with the bouncer up front.

No, this wasn’t a club, although it could have been one. There was a karaoke stage that looked similar to the one at Boa Comida.

“Hey Jillian!” A voice called out.

I spun around to spot who was calling me.

“Mama J!” Another yelled.

Stephanie and Jennifer were walking towards me as fast as their 5 inch heels could take them.
