Epilogue

Dan's POV

It's been five years since Jillian Meyers attempted suicide. She was right, I did find someone to love and she loved me back. Tonight, I was going to pop the question.

God I'm so nervous. But this feels right.

If there's anything I've learnt from that night, it's to never take things for granted.

"Babe, we're going to have a giant family dinner before our date, 'kay?" I said while fixing my tie.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world." Jillian said, pecking me on the lips.

My heart fluttered. "Once a tease, always a tease."

"But you still love me." She chuckled.

"You make it really hard not to." I whispered, trailing kisses down her neck. She shivered, sending tingles of delight through my body. I nibbled gently on her earlobe and my knees weakened when she let out a soft moan.

"Okay, I really want to, but we're going to be late." She chuckled, pulling back.

I pouted. She patted my cheek adoringly. "Maybe tonight, if you're lucky."

"Yes!" I cheered, dancing around. She started laughing and the sound was like music to my ears. After all these years, she's still so beautiful.

"I love you." She whispered.

"I love you too." I answered back.

We left our tiny apartment and headed to my old house.

We walked in and were greeted by my family and Brittany - who would hopefully soon be my family too.

"Hey Brittany, can I talk to you?" I asked shyly.

Jillian shot me a worried look and I tried to supply her a reassuring smile.

"Sure." She said warmly.

Brittany had went to rehab after the whole suicide fiasco and was back to normal. If anything, her bond with her sister was even stronger and that made me very happy.

"Okay." I inhaled deeply. "I always thought I'd be asking a man this but here goes nothing."

She raised a brow at me.

"DoIhaveyourpermissiontomarryyoursister?" I said all in one breath.

"What?"

"Do I have your permission to marry your sister?" I tried again.

She eyed me from head to toe. "Sure! But if you hurt her I will personally rip your d.ick off and hang it on the wall of my room as my prized possession. Capish?" She threatened.

I nodded, my throat dry.

She pinched my cheeks. "Alright pumpkin pie, let's go eat dinner!" She cheered.

Why does it feel like I've suddenly lost my appetite?

Jillian's POV

This was the first time I was going to see Dan's family since they found out that my parents were dead.

I was immediately tackled into a hug.

"Oh my goodness honey I had no idea!" Dan's mom, Anna exclaimed.

I smiled sadly, drinking her hot cocoa, which by the way was delicious. "You weren't supposed to."
