Isaias

My heart was hammering loudly against my ribcage suddenly came to an abrupt halt when my vision welcomed with the worst scene in my life.

Luigi had her. He was choking my Angel from behind, and she looked terrified. Like a rabbit trapped in a net. My muscles tightened while watching her helpless. All my blood rushed to my heart and pounded loudly, deafening my ears.

I stood immobile as my brain ceased to work as I stared at her.

Luigi saw me, and he smirked evilly. I involuntarily stepped forward, and Luigi spoke threateningly. "Don't try, Isaias ... or she'll die!"

I froze frantically and drifted my gaze to her. Her eyes were close seemingly lost in thought. My jaws clenched with my hands as I watched her.

Don't do something stupid! I prayed silently, but the odds weren't in my favor.

She moved, I instinctively stepped forward with only one thought; to rescue her but Tristan who was already next to me grabbed my arm, stopping me. I forcefully wrenched my arm away but stopped mid-stride when a scene I've never imagined to happen unfolded before my eyes.

The innocent, vulnerable Angel I know was nowhere close to the fierce Angel who floored Luigi's on the floor. A little pride rushed within me, but I quickly shook it away. I need to help her before Luigi gained his strength and harm her.

"Piccola," I called when she moved away, and I strode forward to help her, but Luigi grabbed her by her wrist causing my legs to come to an abrupt halt. My heart lurched as I watched Luigi forced himself to stand up. Cold rushed down my spine when I thought of what he could do to her once he fully got to his feet. My heart pounded louder, like horses hooves, it hurt to even breath.

I quickly strode towards them to help when another surprise struck me. As if I'm watching the new version of my Angel.

A fierce, dangerous Angel.

In a mere seconds, Luigi fell on the ground defeatedly, grunting and groaning in pain, dropping his gun after. "Oh God, Piccola!" I growled, quickly narrowing our distance and pulled her away from him.

She reluctantly released Luigi's twisted arm as I pulled her away. She looked lost in fury, her eyes blazing fire of rage as she stared down at the back of Luigi.

I hugged her shaking body and just realized that I'm shaking too. Still shocked of her self-defense abilities, but the thought of her mere death had my heart dropped into a bottomless abyss. It felt like someone had strangled me too, the air supplying my lungs felt like it was cut off.

As much as I'd like to berate her of her stubbornness, I know it's pointless now. It is done. I'm just glad she's safe now.

She seemed still lost as I held her closer. She was motionless as I kissed her on her temple, her forehead, or anywhere my lips landed.

Just then my eyes caught the man in old white shirt, talking to Celestina. They both looked lost as they stared at each other. Mixed emotions marred their faces.

I shifted my eyes back to the woman in my arms; my life, my heart, my everything.

Just then I felt her hands wrapped around me and I briefly close my eyes as I smelled her hair, her neck. It seemed that everything around us faded; the barking of the Police officers, the chaos, and all that it matters to me is her warmth against mine. Her alive.

"ISAIAS!" my head snapped up and found Celestina running towards us and before it dawned on me, Luigi's gun pointing in my direction. Instinctively, I wrapped my hands around Angel protectively, and about to block the bullet when I saw it hit Celestina.
