Isaias' POV

I stared at the droplets of warm water hitting the marble tiles as I tried to block the conversation we had and Jimmy.

"Fucking, asshole!" I grunted and started rinsing my body, letting the warm water cascade down, doing its magic on my tense muscles. As usual, it helped a bit to relax my restless mind.

As soon as I felt a tad better, I turned the water top off and stepped out of the shower.

Feeling relaxed, I grabbed a clean towel and started toweling dry my hair down to my body as I sauntered towards the door and then wrapped the towel around my hips. I grunted as I realized the damn towel was too small, and the ends barely met.

I didn't bother taking another one.

I approached closer to the door, but then I felt something wasn't right.

All my senses perked up, and the hair on my nape stood up as I grabbed the lever handle with my other hand.

Something is definitely wrong. My body tensed up immediately.

Instinctively, I quietly pressed the side of my head against the door, and my system perked up, listening intently for any suspicious sounds behind the door.

It was quiet.

I sighed.

Shaking my head, kicking away the paranoia, I quietly opened the door, eager to hit the bed after a long night.

The strip of golden light reflected onto the silver-plated gun and shone straight into my exhausted eyes, causing me to come to an abrupt halt. I stared at it, momentarily frozen.

My body turned rigid as my eyes slowly traveled from the tip of the silencer to the gun down to the woman. Excuse me... but an angel holding the barrel, pointing at me.

My eyebrow shot up as I regarded her intently, my eyes twitching. I sensed fear, and I stifled the urge to smirk.

Definitely, too innocent to even hold that badass metal.
