I headed towards the door. Logan was holding the door for me. I looked straight into his eyes and he briefly looked down before apprehensively dragged it back to mine.

My eyes twitched as I got closer. Logan never look away when I look him in the eye. Definitely, there's something happened while I was away.

I stopped in front of him and he flinched back visibly. Logan never flinch unless something is off. My eyebrow went high up at his reaction. "Logan," I said, almost a murmur.

I searched something in his eyes and he blinked twice. "I expect you to report everything to me," I softly demanded before turning my back and stepped out of the door. He closed the door quietly and stood stiffly in front of me. My jaw clenched impulsively. He avoided my gaze and I could smell the apprehension swirling around him. I cocked my eyebrow at him.

"Logan," I called his name once again, there was a hint of warning underlying my low tone.

"B-Boss," he stuttered as he dragged his gaze down and stared at the floor. He was as stiff as the door behind him. This is the second time he stuttered.

"What happened in my absence?" I asked, my voice low but menacing. I can't still forget my angel hugging him.

He snapped his head up and met my eyes. His lashes twitched with anxiousness. "B-Boss?" he stammered as he met my gauging eyes. The way he can't hold my gaze, I knew he's hiding something. I stared him down.

He gulped and looked away.

I scowled at him. "What happened?" I asked directly.

He gulped down again before he slowly meet my gaze. "B-Boss, Ms Viggorino had... had managed to... to slip out of our sight but I found her and she's safe," he explained. My muscles tensed. "I apologize if I hesitated to tell you this Boss, because I know when she said something, I'm sure you'll obey her," Logan said bluntly and I scowled darkly at him. He didn't flinched as he met my gaze. "She threatened me to fire me if I'll relay this informa—"

"Spill it out!" I hissed gruffly.

"We accidentally found the secret the President was hiding. There was a man in the cellar or basement, Boss. And we don't know who he is, and Ms. Viggorino wants me to hide this from you. She threatened me to fire me if I relay it to you, Boss. I hope that explains my hesitation," he explained in one breath.

Before I could open my mouth, Logan added. "If she finds out I told you this Boss, she'll demand you to fire me." His tone hardening at the end.

I cocked my eyebrow. The looked on his face says that he's threatened with my Angel. I couldn't hold my smirk at the thought of someone as small and naive as angel had managed to scare a sturdy, stoic looking man such as him.

"And you were threatened?" I asked in a flat, bored tone.

"How about you, Boss?" he blatantly shot back, his shoulders stiffed holding my gaze without wavering. The man who a moment ago was likely to shit his pants in anxiousness had turned brave.

There's the Logan I know.

He could face me without flinching if he knew he was right, and at this moment, he was right, but I won't give him the satisfaction.

I scowled at him. "So what are you trying to say?" I glowered.

"Boss, you have to know that my loyalty belongs to you, but I don't want Ms. Viggorino finds out that I relayed this information to you since she wants to finds out herself who is the man in the cellar," he explained.
