Introduction
"Good afternoon everyone, I am Arden Van Houston, and I am your Human Analysis Professor"
Arden Van Houston isn't like any other individual, or so he believes, he comes from a long line of Doctor's, his father, Charles Van Houston being one of the best. Some people may refer to him as the black sheep of his family but honestly, they don't consider him to be as such, in fact his family thinks he out shined all of them intellectually, reasons being: he graduated high school at sixteen rather than eighteen, he gained his PhD at twenty two when in reality he should have received it at age twenty eight or even thirty and now at twenty four he is a Professor at the notorious Oxford University. The subject he teaches isn't exactly what his students or people in general would assume it would be, it is the study of the human but not quite, its more related to how humans respond to each other, in every possible way, especially romantically.
The subject isn't one that is a cliche, because then it wouldn't be interesting at all, its more of a mystery since Arden himself introduced the subject and it isn't entirely scientific, maybe slightly but not quite.
"For this term of your studies for Human Analysis we will be focusing on women." Ardens voice echoed in the room which consisted of one hundred students.
His voice echo, however, vibrated the most in Aimee Williams head, the sound to her was brisk, husky and appealing, it fit finely with his appearance all together. Arden wasn't modest so his appearance always came as a upper hand with the female species.
Aimee Williams got accepted to Oxford surprisingly, she had applied for a transfer from The University of the West Indies so that she could complete her medical studies in a place that had better facilities, not that the facilities at her old university wasn't great, but she wanted more and going to England was more to her, she wanted to go to the place that was the origin of her country Guyana. There wasn't any UWI campuses in Guyana, so she attended the one in Trinidad, The St. Augustine Campus was marvelous, but more was better for her, Oxford was better.
"I know all of you, or most of you have heard the saying 'Behind every successful man, there is a woman', and this is true... in most cases, that is" he laughed at the last part, probably referring to himself, probably since he didn't have a woman.
Aimee snorted at his cockiness, the snort wasn't as quiet as she assumed it would be, since most of the class was staring at her, including Arden and others were trying to suppress their laughter.
"You there!, who just snorted, would you mind sharing your name?", Arden asked with too much interest, her appearance to him was quite appealing... beautiful, her bright obsidian eyes, her light brown creamy skin and her dark brown hair...
Aimee was surprised by his bluntness, but still managed to utter her name, " Aimee Williams, My name is Aimee Williams"
"Would you please stand for me Miss Williams, I want to see you properly, since you had the audacity to snort at me!", Aimee stood immediately, since from his tone it was more of a command rather than a question.
Arden walked towards her slowly, examining her as he approached her, he was very impressed with her body, curvy and slender, just his type. Her body language told him she was was nervous, since she was playing with her hands, this pleased him in a sense and frightened him too. He was now facing her.
"Why did you feel the need to snort at me" Arden asked daringly, while putting on his best serious face, when in reality he was smiling inside.
Intimidated by his serious expression, Aimee tried to explain herself, " I wasn't sorting at YOU, but more at the saying, you obviously don't believe the saying, so why do you feel the need to share it with us, your cockiness in front of the class would only assume that you don't think a woman is necessary for success, since you Professor Van Houston are successful and probably don't have a woman"
Stunned and impressed by her response, Arden replied, "Is that what you think?"
Aimee nodded
" Well Miss Williams, you are correct and incorrect at the same time" Professor Van Houston baffled Aimee and the entire class by his statement, but no one interrupted, they let him continue.
"You see Miss Williams, I do believe in the saying that behind every successful man there is a woman, but no, I don't think a woman is necessary for success, yes she could be a drive, for success, motivation or even a prize, but in the end it is up to you"
"Women, are true bearers of the world, beside from the Almighty God, women make you feel alive, they bring pleasure, excitement and fun to a man's life"
"They make you happy, they give you a reason to live, they are a stimulation for men, having them makes you feel like you have a purpose on the face of this Earth..."
"Am I successful?, yes, Do I have a woman?, no, Do I want one?, yes"
"I want everything that the other successful men get from their women, forgive my cocky attitude, but unless I have this my cocky demeanor will remain the same, despite my success" Arden smiled at Aimee and finally said "Having a woman gives a man, gives me a reason to keep my heart beating, to take in the air, inhale... exhale....BREATHE"
Breathe........
Arden lingered a bit infront of Aimee, but he didn't look at her, he was lost in thought, reminscing in his mind of what was, how it felt, how she felt. He pushed the thought out of his head, since it brought up memories that were forgotten, how could one of his students possibly bring him back to the moment of the memories of her... what a mystery
"Class dismissed, please research on women, we'll meet, tomorrow same time, have a good day", Arden dismissed the class, all except one,"Miss Williams not you, I'll like to have a few words with you". Aimee followed Professor Van Houston to the front of the class as everyone else left to go to their other classes or home. Luckily, she didn't have any class after this today, so you wouldn't have to worry in being late.
"I'm sure you have many questions, Aimee" Arden predicted and he was right, Aimee wanted to know what he meant by the last part of his short speech, how could one possibly do that for a man, it seemed like a hard thing to do...unless he experienced it.
"Yes I do, what did you mean by...by make you want to breathe?, this brought a smile to Arden's face since that was the exact question he wanted her to ask.
