21 Years Old. Many people are excited for this special occasion, mostly because you can finally drink in the sweet lands of America. Wine and beer are okay, but it's nothing you can keep. For instance, well you drink a drink and it's done. With a puppy on the other hand, that can keep you occupied and best of all, you can keep it for years.
Many people I know have beautiful and gorgeous dogs or even a few. Me unfortunately, have nothing but a boyfriend named Doody.
Doody and I have been together for four amazing years. We met through my friends, Marty and Frenchy, at a party in our senior year of high school. His dark mocha colored curly hair caught my eyes as I first laid eyes on his chocolate eyes. As he told me, my diamond like (hair color) caught his eyes. There he asked me out for a short date at Frosty's. There he asked me if I wanted to be his girlfriend. I giggled as leaned in for a long, romantic kiss.
Fast forward to the year 1963, and we lived a small town near the coast of western California. Shelters were crowded around the shore line, and many times all the animals get adopted out. Even the senior pets.
I mean all dogs are adorable and have those innocent brown eyes, but (your favorite breed) beats the odds. They are loyal, cute as a button, adorable, goofy, and a companion you can call your own.
Breeding is much too complicated for a momma dog. She is forced to be bred over and over and many of the mom dogs often have serious health issues. Adoption sounds easier and plus you're saving a life. All I wanted to was to adopt.
Doody always told me that one day he would adopt a puppy. It was hard with all the (breed) puppies would be adopted out to much.
Months passed since I wanted a puppy to call my own, and slowly my birthday approached. Doody said he would have a gigantic surprise for me, and I was getting extremely anxious.
My birthday was know right before me, with a whole day of going shopping and getting a tan at the beach. I was awoken by the smell of my favorite breakfast - (favorite breakfast.) I jumped out of bed and bolted down the stairs to the kitchen as Doody placed a plate full of food in front of me.
"Happy birthday Y/N!" He shouted as he picked up a icy blue and sunny yellow box the size the world. He set it on the table as suddenly a yap from the box was heard. I gasped as a little adorable (color of the breed) jump from the enormous box. It began to lick my face as tears of pure joy escaped my eyes. It felt like I was shedding waterfalls.
"Doody, (he/she) is so cute! How did you find (him/her?)" I questioned.
"The shelter had a litter of pups that needed home, so I jumped to the opportunity," Doody said as he reached under the table to pull out dog food, treats, toys, and proper health care. I gasped as I kissed Doody on the lips. He smiled as he kissed back. Suddenly the puppy jumped onto the both of us and began to lick our cheeks. We both laughed loudly.
"(She/he) reminds me too much of you Doody. (She/he) is sweet and loving, just like you. That's why I'm going to call (him/her) (name.)"
