The angel gave no mind to the shadow as he gave a comforting smile before he carefully puts a hand on her shoulder. "Relax, young Neko. I won't do any harm to you," He told her as another hand went to her head. Scratching behind her ears to gain some trust, she instantly melts. That action caused her to purr softly and instinctively leaned closer to the hand scratching her as a small blush and smile appeared, eyes going half-lidded. At seeing this, he chuckled. He moved that hand to her forehead and a small light emitted from his hands. It shows her the difference between the old Daku and the current Daku slowly, not wanting to hurt her in any way.
What he was doing was making her younger memories surface and compare them to the most recent ones. As this happened, Shizuka was in awe as she saw the light shine through his hands and she faintly wondered if she could do that as well. She stayed quiet though, not wanting to interrupt him as she was still learning so she couldn't do much.
She can't help but feel hopeless as her sister sees the differences, tears falling from her eyes. She had known that this was tearing her sister apart because the Neko used to look up to Daku. That was why it was such a hard decision to make for the both of them to leave. The hybrid knew this and yet she didn't even know the hole in the Neko's chest that it's causing her. Only a mate could heal this hole now as it was too wide for her sisters love to heal, that is if it doesn't end up killing her first.
Soon the angel was done. He wrapped his arms around the crying Neko and gave her a comforting hug. Like what a father would do to their kids to make them feel better. This made Ochitsuita cry even more because she missed the warmth of a father's love, a mother's love, and now an actual loving brother's love. A part of her had known that what Shizuka had spoken was true but she didn't want to believe it so she became delusional, not wanting to lose that warmth.
Shizuka felt a pang, but she decided to ignored it.
Ever since Ochitsuita's vampire side woke up, she has felt cold, empty. Only Shizuka and Daku made it warm, bright, and full of emotions again. Another pang of sadness came across Shizuka as she felt what her sister felt and felt guilty for doing this to her but it was necessary.
Or was it really?
When the crying had ceased, the Neko looked at the angel and apologized for crying in front of him as her deceased father used to say it was a sign of weakness and vulnerability. The angel quickly dismissed it, telling her that it was okay to cry and that he was always willing to do it again if she needed it to which she just nodded. Her look was empty though as she felt empty, drained even. "When do we..." She trailed off as she felt tired, her voice hoarse from all the crying.
"Whenever you both feel ready or when the time is right," He said as he helped her get to the bed, not forgetting that it was still night time. Shizuka spoke this time. "How about once school is over? We don't want to create chaos once the entire school notices that we're missing," Suggested Shizuka as she thought about the ones that hunted them down as well. The Neko agreed, but she didn't look at anyone as she had her eyes closed. "Very well, I shall return that day to bring you both with me so until then, farewell and sleep well," Said the angel as he kissed Shizuka's forehead and petted Ochitsuita's head again but this time so that Daku wouldn't enter her mind when he left, nor anytime soon.
The angel had also temporarily weakened the connection between the neko and the shadows so that there were less chances for Daku to find a loophole. Then he was gone in the next moment, leaving as silently as he had come.
Now you see, when they were younger, their father expected for them to follow in their older brother's footsteps, meaning they had high expectations to follow. Ochitsuita didn't mind it as she wanted to please her father and make Daku proud of her but Shizuka only wanted their Mother's praise and approval.
While their Mother was sick, the Neko rarely visited her, afraid that she would somehow shorten what's left of her Mother's life. This saddened the Mother at seeing almost everyone except her, but she understood. When it was her last few minutes alive, she requested to be with the twins, alone. Shizuka was there by her side quickly but Ochitsuita reluctantly agreed. She had kept her distance away from their dying Mother though. That was until the Mother made Shizuka grab her sister and bring her closer, which she did almost immediately but the Neko was struggling to get away until she felt a hand on her head and froze.
The Mother was scratching her cat ears and try as she might, she couldn't ever get rid of her current response which was purring. It made the Mother overjoyed to hear that soft sound one last time and to hold them both, one last time...
