Paper Clip was a born leader. That's what his parents would say. He never felt like one. Let alone actually be one. He was at the top of everything. Math, English, Sports, you name it, he was good at it. This is what gained him popularity. However, Paper Clip never knew that this was the reason. He always thought it was something else. But, he was pretty awkward. Funny thing was that he knew the answer to everything, except his life. He would always wonder why he was here at this moment in time. And why no one would leave him alone.
Throughout his life, he would constantly get attention. From strangers and people, he knew alike. The strangers were creepier, he had to admit. Someone was passing out fliers near the coffee shop he always goes to in the morning. He got one and stuffed it in his bag. He didn't look at it until a few days later.
"You're a natural born leader. Always remember that."
"Yeah right."
Paper Clip invited some friends over that day.
"Hey, what's this paper for?"
"Oh, that? Just a flier I picked up. Nothing special."
"Let me look!"
"It sounds cool though. You seem like the type to win one of these anyways."
Paper Clip laughed.
"You guys don't know who I am then!"
"Well, at least we know more than you! You never know what reality shows do, so being good at everything is helpful."
"What have you been on one before."
"I watch TV you know."
The conversation turned into a silly argument after this. But when his friends left he wondered if he was a good leader. There was no harm in trying. He signed up and hoped what his parents said was true.
