Can has lived in the orphanage for all of her life. The caretaker says that her parents left her here, but she likes to think that her parents died and she was brought here as a result of that. Honestly, she just wants to deny the truth. The truth can hurt. So she really never believed in it. Unless it was good. Then she would go haywire.
"Oh my lid, It's the first day of school! Yay!"
"Oh my lid, today's my birthday! Presents!"
"Oh my lid...!"
"Oh my lid...!"
"Oh my lid...!"
That was her signature saying. That's when you know if Can was happy. She would say it over and over again. At least no one got tired of it. It only happened once a month. If Can said it every day. Now that would be a problem.
"Can you not say it every time you say a sentence?"
"Oh my lid, but today's an amazing day!"
"Fine."
Her friends from the orphanage followed her everywhere. Not only because she was the youngest, but also because Can would sometimes break down for no reason.
"I just remembered that Kitty died on this day!"
"Actually, that was yesterday."
"Really?"
"Yes, really."
"Okay!"
Her friends always wanted Can to be happy and for her to follow her dreams. Can had really wanted to travel somewhere outside of their town, and they supported that. They had tried to find a way for Can to go outside their town until they found a flier.
"Can, you could sign up for this."
"But... but what about you guys?"
"We'll be fine. Besides, you've always wanted to see what's in this world. And plus, we already asked the caretaker. She agreed."
"Oh my lid, thank you so much guys!"
