Thread has the same routine every day. And it becomes boring after awhile.
Wake up.
Get ready.
Run to school.
Be late to class.
Sit down.
And let the day go on.
"You're late. Again."
"I'm sorry."
"Take a seat."
Thread gets too caught up in things and forgets what happens around him. He even tends to do crazy things just to make things interesting. He doesn't have a 'comfort zone'. He can do anything and not be ashamed or feel embarrassed. Thread thinks of it as fun and entertaining. And when his friends are not daring him to do something, he goes off and finds things on the ground. A collector of the unwanted. That's what he calls himself. And Thread literally picks up everything. From trash to a homework assignment, he collects it. And that's when he picked up a flier. Except he doesn't look at his 'treasure' until the week ends. When it does, he has fun. In a weird way.
"This wrapper has a funny logo!"
"This kid's essay is due on Monday!"
"These sunglasses are cool!"
"Someone drew a mustache on this baby!"
He would comment on everything he found. And for everything that he thought that was cool, Thread would pin it on his wall. For the things he wasn't too fond of, he threw them in the trash.
"Hmmm? What's this?"
Thread read the flier.
"A chance to be on TV! Awesome! I can't wait to go there! Excitement here I come!"
And with that, Thread signed up hoping for adventure.
