This chappy is dedicated to @Roxannefernandez for adding this story to her reading list! Thank you so so much I could die of happiness! It means a lot to me!

"Open the gates! Open the gates!" Elsa screamed as Sven ploughed through the eight-inch-foot tall snow in front of the palace. The two guards standing watch immediately withdrew their spears and pulled the gates open. Before it even got three feet wide, she burst through, Kristoff (and Jack) carrying Anna right behind her.

Elsa quickly dismounted the reindeer and urged the boy(s) to go faster. She opened the doors to Anna's bedroom and ordered for them to lay her down on it. Once she was carefully (by the courtesy of Elsa) tucked in, she shooed them out and knelt by her sister's side. "Anna... I'm so sorry... please, just wake up!"

But the princess didn't open her eyes.

Elsa felt tears streaming down her face and wept into her hands. Suddenly, she felt someone's presence behind her, and she didn't even have to look up to know who it was. "Jack? I thought I locked you out."

"Aren't so smart now, aren't you, Your Majesty?" he said teasingly, and then remembered the solemn situation. "I'm technically half-ghost. I can appear and disappear wherever and whenever I wish."

"Oh, Jack!" Elsa exclaimed, grabbing his sweater and soiling it with her icy tears. "She-she's gone!"

"Elsa..." He gently stroked her back with his thin fingers. She didn't even realize that it was the first time he'd called her by her real name, and not 'Your Majesty' or 'Your Highness'. "We haven't even tried thawing her out."

"O-oh," she stammered, looking up at his face. "B-but how?"

"We use a torch and gently wave it over her body," he suggested hopefully. "We could try, at least."

"Yes, w-we could." Elsa got up and grabbed one of the torches lighting up the hallway outside. She returned to her sister's bedside and looked at Jack briefly before holding it out over Anna's feet. She'd barely been holding it for a minute when slowly, very slowly, the blueness of her sister's feet dissipated. Suddenly, she gasped and nearly dropped the torch. Jack grabed her arm before she could stagger.

"What's wrong?" he asked anxiously, eyes searching her face. He only saw pain.

"I--I think the flame is melting... me!" she half-screamed, clutching her skirt so tightly that her knuckles turned even whiter than usual. "My ice powers... it's ebbing away!"

Jack scrunched his eyebrows together in pity. "You can stop! I'll do it instead."

"But won't it have the same effect on you?"

"I... it will." Jack stared down at his feet for a brief second before meeting her gaze with determination and taking the torch from her hands. "But I will do it for you, Elsa."

At that moment, the young queen felt like crying again. This was her sister, and her closest friend, the boy who probably meant the most to her, was going to save Anna for her?

No. Elsa grabbed the torch back and set her eyes on her frozen sister. This is my family. My only family left. This is my sacrifice. "I cannot allow you to do that, Jack."

She turned her tearful gaze back to her sister and tried to ignore the pain blossoming in her heart. Barely a half-minute later, she felt someone's hand on her own. Jack was looking warmly at her. "And I cannot allow you to do it alone, Elsa."
