Despite the heat coming from the torch in her hands, with Jack's hand firmly on hers, Elsa forgot about the pain. They moved the torch slowly, from Anna's frozen feet to her torso, until the only thing frozen was her head.

"It's working!" she exclaimed, unable to resist a squeal. Jack smiled, but when he saw her face, the corners of his lips instantly turned down. Elsa looked at him questioningly. "What's wrong?"

"Elsa... your face!" he said agitatedly, staring at her forehead--almost nothing more than a peach-colored blob of wax. "It's melting."

"What?" Elsa reached up and touched her forehead. Her dainty fingertips sunk in half an inch and she immediately pulled them out, gasping. "Oh no, oh no, oh no!"

"Here, let me do it," he offered, making a grab for the torch in her hands. She pulled away quickly, and a thumb-sized piece of burning ember fell from the fire and landed inches from her foot. "No, I cannot let you do this alone. This is my sister, and it's my risk. Should I die, it isn't your fault."

"But it is," he argued. "It's my fault for not being able to save Arendale's queen from killing herself. Believe it or not, they need you to guide them. They need you, Elsa."

"They will have Anna, then," she sniffed, starting to hold the torch over Anna's head. But his next words stopped her.

"need you, Elsa." He grabbed for the torch, and this time, she was too shocked to pull away. He pushed her out of the way and steeled his grip on the torch's handle. "Now, let me do this."

Elsa was too weak to do anything but watch as Jack slowly unfroze Anna's head, and her sister slowly blinked her eyes. "W-what happened? Elsa!"

"Anna!" Elsa exclaimed, rushing to her sister's side and engulfing her in an air-squeezing hug.

"What happened to me?"

"It's sorta a long story," Elsa muttered, grinning. "Right, Jack?

"Jack?"

The queen looked around the whole room, but her friend was gone. Instead, a panting Kristoff burst into the room and, upon seeing Anna, sighed in relief. "You're alive!"

But Anna didn't hear him. "Elsa? Who's Jack? Should I know something?"

"Not now, Anna," Elsa murmured, standing up and calling out, "Jack! Jack, where are you?"

Kristoff ran to Anna's bedside and muttered something along the lines of, "Is it just me, or is your sister going crazy? I mean, who is this guy Jack?"

"Something's wrong; I know it," Anna said, sweeping off her blankets and walking up to her sister. "Elsa, tell me everything that happened now, please. Then maybe I can help you find Jack."

"It's not as easy as you think," she said softly, crossing the room and striding out to the balcony overlooking the slowly defrosting Arendale. But she didn't care about that at the moment. "Jack, where are you?"
