"Elsa, over here," a voice called from behind her. She spun around to find a very faint dusty outline of her friend.
"Jack! What happened?" she exclaimed, running in front of him. She reached out and was horrified to find that her hand went right through him unlike before when there seemed like a small pressure holding her back.
"The fire burned through my existence," he explained as if it was no big deal. "I won't last long."
"Oh my goodness, no, please!" she begged, attempting to hug him yet failing again. "It can't end like this...!"
"I'm really sorry, Elsa," he murmured, looking down at the ground. "It was either me or you."
"It should've been me!" she argued, bursting into tears. "Anna's my sister, not yours!"
"It's okay, Elsa. You can't do anything about it now," he said softly.
"But--I... I can!" she exclaimed, remembering the days when Jack taught her how to control and use her powers. "Remember when you taught me how to bring objects to life? I can do the same to you!"
"I don't think it--"
"What, works on ghosts?" she countered. "I will try, Jack. I'll try to save you!"
She slowly moved her hand to the area above his heart and concentrated. She felt icy air come out of her fingertips and slowly move to fill in her friend's hollow frame. She saw him gasp from the cold shock, but her arm didn't waver.
"Stop, Elsa. You're hurting yourself--"
"No, I'm not," she managed. Slowly, his torso appeared, then his legs and head. She finally dropped her arm and collapsed against the balcony.
"Elsa! Elsa!" Jack exclaimed, picking her up and shaking her. For five whole minutes, she didn't react and slowly, he felt a tear trickle down his cheek.
"J-Jack?" she muttered, forcing her eyes open. He started grinning. "Elsa! You're alive!"
"Well, duh, I'm alive."
"Elsa--?" Anna asked, bursting into the balcony. Her eyes landed on a certain someone beside her sister. "Who're you?!"
"Wait--you can see me?" Jack clarified, eyes widening in disbelief.
"Yeah, I can see you! Elsa, do you know this guy, cuz if not, I'm pushing him off the balcony--"
"I know him, Anna." Elsa smiled at Jack warmly. "He's... a friend."
Had my powers literally brought him to life? Not just as a spirit, but as... someone who exists? Elsa felt her insides bubble with joy.
"Really?" Anna asked dubiously, staring at Jack like he'd appeared out of thin air.
Well, then again, he sorta did.
"Yes," Elsa replied. "This is Jack Frost. When I'd run away into the mountains and was in danger, he was there and saved me. He taught me how to use my powers, because he's just like... me."
"So how come we can only see him now?" Kristoff asked, appearing beside Anna.
"It's..." Elsa shared a knowing glance with Jack. "A long story."
