CHAPTER 3: PRINCESS LAZY BUTT
ANASTASIA
A contented sigh escapes my lips the moment the bell rings, signifying the end of school.
I hurriedly pack my books into my back pack and leave the last class for today, literature.
As I'm walking towards the exits, I feel a looming presence beside me. I look up to see Jack walking beside me casually.
I curse myself when a small squeak escapes my lips. Anastasia when will you stop that?!
"Um w-what are you d-doing here?" also stop the stammering, princess.
He smirks and I feel my breath catch. He needs to stop doing that, seriously, "can't I walk you to your car?"
"I um, I walk home" I tell him. Of course I don't, the limo is parked a few blocks away.
He nods, "okay then, I'll walk you home"
I raise a disgustingly bushy eyebrow, "you don't have to, really its a long way"
He shrugs, "then I'll drive you its no problem really"
I stop in my tracks and he does the same, "thank you but no thank you Jack, I'm fine" I tell him firmly.
He raises an eyebrow at my reaction and slowly nods, raising both his palms up in defence.
"Woah, okay princess"
My eyes widen and my heart beat accelerates, he knows? How did he find out. Oh this cannot be happening.
"W-what?" I whisper weakly.
He shrugs, "that's my nickname for you, do you like it?" there's amusement laced in his tone.
I shake my head vigorously, the brown strands shaking with it, "no I do not, please don't call me that"
He smirks, but nods and I turn and walk away, before I've taken two steps, I turn to face him again, he's still in the same position as before, "and Jack? Just because we're partners doesn't mean we have to be friends, in fact you don't have to talk to me at all"
He raises an eyebrow and shrugs, still smirking, "okay"
I nod and turn and walk away, outside into the grey, dreary world.
I keep walking, occasionally turning around to make sure nobody follows me.
After walking for fifteen minutes, I spot the limo, hidden in the shadows. My driver and best friend Jonathan opens his door to greet me.
"Hey Johnny" I smile brightly, hugging him.
"Hi princess" he hugs me back and opens the door for me so I can enter the limo.
"So how was school?" He asks. The drive from my school to the palace is about an hour and a half so we talk a lot during that period.
Jonathan Morr is forty eight years old and he's my driver/ butler/body guard/ best friend. He's the only one in the world I trust besides my parents.
"Same old Johnny" I sigh, "let's hope it stays that way"
He chuckles, "I got some jelly beans for you back there"
I smile, "thanks Johnny you're the absolute best"
I pull out the fake teeth and wig and eyebrows and glasses.
I begin to wipe the acne off my face with the wipes I always keep in the limo, popping a jelly bean in my mouth.
When I finally look like myself, I sigh and close my eyes.
