Poetic Introduction

TIERRA:

How can everything that I touch turn to gold...

Yet I feel alone inside...

How can everyone yearn to be around me,

But I fear their company, I want to cry...

Can't risk allowing anyone into my inner circle,

If you weren't there b4-

The crisis, I can't let you in now.

Can't trust my heart,

Don't know where to start...

Condo, chauffeur, a closet full of the finest clothes,

I Can afford to go, anywhere that I choose to go.

Yet, I stay at home...

Alone!

Forced to take a vacation,

Yet it only reaffirmed why I don't...

All hell broke loose,

And now I yearn for the sanctum of the 4 walls;

The smell of leather, and the giggling-

Of the silly secretaries-

Fawning over the delivery boys...

What's wrong with me?

He's handsome, tall, dark, with dreads-

That I could get lost in.

Yet I can't commit, I can't allow myself to peak-

Around the walls that have shielded me...

For so very long!

I Won't,

I refuse to...

But then,

There is HE...

QU:

I can't believe my destiny.

Karma?...

Please, I've been a good man GOD,

Tell me why...

I found her, loved her with all my soul.

My parents gave her the okay, and now she is gone!

There is only one that my heart craves now,

Yet the words that I desire to say I can't.

Risk losing all that we have...

Risk all of the years;

By my side she's slept

Innocently,

Peacefully,

Soundly...

I see her and my world lights up.

I know without a doubt-

She's meant to be my Queen,

To bare my future seeds,

To take my name; pass on my mother's

wedding ring...

But I just can't get pass-

The wall around her,

The man whose embrace she's in now;

The coldness in his glare.

I know that there's evil in his heart

But do I dare tell?... share?

Will she see me for jealous?

Or hear the love in my voice?

Will she run from me?

Or to me?

This is a chance-

I dare not take...

Too much at stake;

So, I'll simply wait,

Observe-

And pray,

A life I won't have to take.
