***So, there's a bit of mature content in this chapter-just a warning. Happy reading!***
Sean pulled me along through the hallway and I followed diligently, my hand warm and tingly as it sat enveloped in his palm. His blond curls bounced as he walked slightly in front of me, his gate excited and buoyant. He was perfectly carefree and it gave me the oddest desire to smile right along with him.
A door to the left opened and a large figure clothed in black exited the room before shutting the door behind him firmly. North glanced up as Sean came to a stop, taking a casual but protective stance in front of me. "Hey, North." He greeted cheerily and North grunted at him before landing his dark gaze on me.
I could tell that he hadn't forgiven me for throwing him over my shoulder or for attacking the others during my flight and I held back the urge to smirk at him in challenge. While I felt I had a certain handle on some of them, North was still a mystery to me. He seemed like a loose cannon, angry and violent, and I had a feeling any type of teasing or insolence towards him would not go unpunished. They were all capable of torturing me, of that I was sure, but there was something specifically unsettling about the amount of hate that burned in his eyes as he looked at me. He absolutely despised me and for the first time in a long time, I wanted to curl in on myself and hide.
"Taking her for surgery, I hope?" He rumbled, moving his heavy stare to Sean as his tone lifted to make it a question. I was pretty sure that people always died when Sean had surgery so North's intense desire for me to be on the operating table annoyed me.
Sean didn't seem perturbed though as he laughed lightheartedly. "Nope, heading to Gabriel for a Pookie makeover." I grimaced at the term and almost laughed as North mirrored me, his face screwing up unpleasantly.
He seemed to notice our matching reactions and he pinched his lips in displeasure like he'd tasted something sour. "Well, get her the fuck out of here before I bash her head in again." He threatened, though I could tell from Sean's unconcerned stance that it was a bluff.
"Now, North, it's already been decided to wait for family night before anything definite is determined." Sean chided and North rolled his eyes.
"Whatever." He barked as he pushed passed us, making sure to hit my shoulder to send me sprawling onto the floor as he stalked off.
My ass protested the fall and I speared his retreating form with a glare hot enough to melt metal, but he didn't glance back. "Asshole." I muttered and I saw the minuscule pause in his stride that hinted to the fact that he'd heard my insult. I smirked. Good.
Sean picked me up off the floor gently before unnecessarily brushing off my clothes. His hands lingered on my ass and I almost yelped at the feel of his fingers ghosting over my barely covered breasts as he "cleaned" my scrub top. His blatantly transparent attempts to cop a feel did not go unnoticed and I stopped him with a swift slap on his hand making him pull away with a pout.
"Now, now, Doctor." I scolded. "I don't think I'm that dirty."
He chuckled cheekily, not even trying to play innocent. "Can't blame a guy for trying, now can you?" I pursed my lips to keep from smiling at him as he took my hand again and continued our walk down the hallway.
We were about to turn a corner when light feminine moan sounded somewhere in front of us. Sean stopped abruptly and pulled me to the wall, feigning nonchalance when I knew he was hiding me from whatever was happening around the corner. With a huff, I pushed Sean aside as a deep tone rumbled through the hallway speaking a foreign language and a feminine sigh sounded again before it was followed by another moan. Sean wrinkled his nose and I had a feeling I didn't really want to see what was around the corner, but I peeked anyway, my curiosity overriding my doubt.
