Dumbledore lead Genevieve and Kristian to the top of a tall tower, before gesturing Kristian inside and telling him to wait there. Genevieve looked alarmed, and Kristian gave her a quick, warm embrace before whispering into her still sopping wet hair,

"I'll see you soon." Gen pulled away first, smiling awkwardly, as her father kissed her head whilst Dumbledore averted his gaze and pretended to be interested in something else.

"Bye Dad." Genevieve mumbled, and he smiled too broadly for his feminine face, as Dumbledore put a hand on her back and guided her down the staircase and into the darker parts of the school. Fatigued teenagers groaned as they heaved open heavy wooden doors covered in thick iron decorations and stepped inside to a rather cold room made of what seemed like sandy coloured stone. A heavy metal chandelier hung suspended like a glaring eagle above them, and ivy had begun crawling down the walls, like the claws of monsters attempting to make their way into the bedrooms below. Two black sofa's smothered in green and silver throw cushions sat opposite each other in the centre of the room, and nearby a fire was fading to embers, emitting a haze of smoke to form around the hearth.

Dumbledore lead Genevieve through a maze of furniture, and up a small flight of dismal, dark steps. At the top was a long corridor, all dark wood and iron doors. "The girls wing." Dumbledore whispered quietly, and Genevieve became aware of the quiet, feminine snores echoing bleakly around them. Dumbledore gestured for her to walk down the narrow hallway, and swiftly joining her, knocked sharply on the third door on the right hand side of the corridor.

It opened immediately, and Dumbledore swept inside, Genevieve stumbling in sheepishly after him. Genevieve stared. Three girls stared back.

"Your dormitory, Genevieve. These girls will take good care of you. I'll leave you to your own introductions, as I have work to do." Dumbledore said kindly, sweeping Genevieve into the room, and leaving without another word. Genevieve reluctantly watched him go, her back to the girls, before turning cautiously around and staring into the three pairs of eyes that greeted her.

One sat on the end bed, upright and neat. The second bed was empty. The third bed was occupied by a girl lounging on her stomach and kicking her legs in the air. The fourth, a girl who sat with her legs crossed and hands folded in her lap, smiling sweetly and her head cocked to the side.

"Umm... Hello?" Genevieve ventured insecurely, backing up slightly so her shoulder blades were pressed against the cold iron door, hands curled behind her back. The girl on the first and fourth bed smiled reassuringly. The one on the third smirked momentarily, before heaving herself into an upright position and tossing her hair over her shoulder, then rising to her feet and stalking over to Genevieve, very self assured.

She was a tall girl, almost six foot,  with dead straight chestnut hair and curious brown eyes. She had an air about her of complete confidence and leadership. She intimidated Genevieve, though she'd never admit it. Her face was thin and pointed, with dagger sharp cheekbones and a set of pale lips with twitched with a smile. With arms folded across her rather pronounced chest , and a casual slouch in her posture which made her seem effortlessly cool, She was completely comfortable in her own skin. Her body was all curves, and considering Genevieve had barely ever seen any other people her own age before, this surprised her. She thought her athletic nimbleness was normal.

"Elissa Grizwald." The girl said in a rather sneering, snooty voice. Despite her anxieties, Genevieve found a shred of courage in the base of her heart, and attempted to summon a retort.

"What an unfortunate name." She jeered coolly, standing her ground and glaring the girl in the eyes. The other two girls behind her stifled giggles, but the one in front seemed completely indifferent.
