Chapter 9

April 10, 2016.

"Church was so good today."

"It really was, I felt like Pastor Smith was speaking directly to me." Taylor, Dani and I had just come from church and we were heading out for lunch. Our friendship blossomed these past few weeks and the three of us were like peas in a pod.

"Where we going?" I was behind the wheel of Taylor's Candy Red 2015 Hyundai. Mam-Maw has bought her the car right before she passed, it was a gift no one was expecting but you never really knew with her. Taylor was in the passenger seat and Dani was chilling in the back.

"I really want some pasta.." Dani said leaning forward looking between the two of us.

"So, Olive Garden?"

"Yup!"

"Oh girl you didn't tell me how your date went?" After me and Davie's date on Thursday, I was super busy. Between booking photo shoots and balancing work, it was definitely a lot. Modeling, was a hobby of mine, one that paid some of the bills at that. I loved being behind the camera however, I didn't really want to pursue it as a career. Hence, the reason why it's not my major nor minor.

"It was amazing, we went to this museum downtown that was pro-black. The owner was an elderly lady who's son was killed by a policeman right before his graduation. Y'all I real life wanted to cry, it was so beautiful. We have to go one day, apparently she changes the artwork that is showcased every six months."

"Ohh that sounds so fun and romantic."

"Yeah and he surprised me at our picnic afterwards, by buying me one of the paintings I loved."

"Aweee, Mama raises a gentleman." I chuckled looking back at Dani through the mirror.

"We just vibe so well, I can't even explain it y'all. He's so amazing, I'd be lying if I said he wasn't a breath of fresh air. It's so hard to find someone who's genuine these days."

"Awee, bestie. You deserve this and so much more, I'm happy for you. If he messes this up I will literally cut him."

"Sis, you and me both. Brother or not." Dani said and they both started laughing and hi-fived each other.

"Alright, we're here." I parked the car, shut it off and grabbed my belongings. Slipping my heels back on, we made our way inside to enjoy our meal.

"Mhmm this is so good." I moaned at the taste of the shrimp fettuccine. Olive Garden honestly was one of my favorite places to come and have pasta. You could count on it to be bomb always.

"Wow, they really put their foot into this today." Taylor commented and I nodded with a mouthful. We were sitting in a booth with a window view. It was pretty gloomy outside but, I honestly loved this type of weather. My phone rang off at the table and I picked it up seeing Davie had texted me.
