The rain was starting to die down but most of the damage had been done. I was almost completely soaked and my pants were plastered with mud. I was surprised Zerok woke up and remained calm.
"Care to tell me what a small thing like you is doing abandoned in the middle of a forest?" Zerok giggled and smacked me in response. I made my best fake angry face and pushed some of his silky locks away from his face.
"Hitting is a no no." He looked at my fingers and pointed his out too.
"Oh oh." He said trying to mimic me. I smiled at the adorable scene unfolding before my eyes. As the rain came to a full stop, I stood and stretched before starting to walk.
"We need to get back to the others! They are probably worried."
We walked through the thick, now humid and slightly foggy, forest. The sound of weird squishes and squelches could be heard by my feet. Zerok gurgled from time to time and I would respond. He would try to eat my hair, or even my necklace. Passing by a bunch of trees I noticed they were mainly oak trees. One odd thing I noticed was a door. On an old and mossy tree was a door. The door itself resembled a cabin door. The handle looked gold and the hinges were a rusted iron.
"Owen! Owen doo." Zerok said reaching for the door handle.
"Okay Zerok. Okay. " I reached for the handle.
Crrrrrreeeeeaaaakkkk. The door opened with a prolonged creak as I gazed inside.
Inside, I couldn't tell what was in there. I took a step to gaze in but fell when there wasn't a floor on the other side of the door. I turned so that if we landed I would break Zerok fall, though we were falling slow. Around my the walls went from bark, to dirt, to stone, to a weird mirror like wall except, when I looked at my 'reflection' but my reflection seemed to be trying to break free from their mirror prisons. As we neared the bottom I felt myself fall slower and slower until I stopped completely. Zerok looked at the room we landed in and frowned, which was odd. But I don't blame him. What was in the room will never be forgotten.
All along the walls and strewn across the floor were tons of dead bodies, decayed beyond identifiable. A horrid stench filled my nose as the surrounding mirrors made the scene look worse and creepier. I looked in the mirror and almost screamed. He was behind me. Looks like he wants to fight... again.
"Don't you know when to stay dead?" I said turning to him.
"Don't you know that you fate is sealed?" With that he backed away into the mirror and faded into my reflection. Did I imagine him? At this point I don't know any more. I just sat on the floor. Maybe they'll come looking for me? I hope they do at least.
