Chapter 8

(Cameron's P.O.V.)

Ahh, it's a new week. The sun is at the horizon, there is bacon cooking, and we don't have school today because of Thanksgiving Break. Yippy! Oh and also, its Austin's birthday. I walked up to the bathroom and did he morning procedure. In the middle of my shower, there was a bang at the door, and we all can guess who it was: Austin.  We haven't talked much after the incident that happened last week, but I think were cool now.

"Get out Cam I need to get ready!" Austin shouted loud enough so I could hear it over the water hitting the shower's ground.

I poked my head out of the shower curtain so he could hear me better "Do you have any idea how irritating it is to be interrupted while your in the bathroom?" I asked tonelessly

"If you don't come out, I'm coming in." He stated and I shrugged, pulling the curtain back to its original position. IN no time at all the door opened, letting all the steam out. I shivered as the fresh air came in hitting my skin.

"Close the fucking door, it's freezing!" I shouted at him as he entered.

"No way, I don't want to be suffocated in here."

"Then get out." You could almost hear my eye roll from exasperation.

"It's my birthday, come on, give a brother a break." He offered in a movie-esque way

"LOUD EYE ROLL" I shouted, to which he responded in confusion. I washed all the sop out of my hair and turned off the water. Then I peaked my head out of the curtain to get a towel and I saw Austin brushing his teeth. I never understood why people brushed their teeth before they ate, as if their breath won't smell of food afterwards. I wrapped the towel around my waist, shook my hair, and stepped out of the shower. I pushed Austin out of the way so I could brush my hair, and obviously he pushed back.  I pushed him back, he pushed me, it was a struggle for control, and then it happened...My towel fell off. Austin stopped, and stared.

"Holy shit Cam, you're bigger than Castiel's wings!" Austin stated, diverting his attention back to my eyes.

" I don't understand that reference." I gave him a smirk and an eyebrow raise then we gave each other accomplished high-fives "Anyways do you always have to make a sexual innuendo when you're nervous?" I picked my towel back up and hid my man parts

"Uh, I'm not nervous dweeb." I raised an eyebrow, partly because of confusion, and partly because he was acting weird, then he walked out without another word and went downstairs. I put my clothes on and followed him.

Ella sat a cake right in front of Austin with candle in the shape of "17" on the top. I got some breakfast and sat next to my sister while they lit the candles. My parents came out, totally oblivious to what was happening, got some food, then left for the day to god knows where (probably to get drugs or what have you.)

"Okay, ready?" Ella asked us "One, two, three..." and all in unison we sang happy birthday to Austin. He blew out the candles and we all had birthday cake, which is almost as great as birthday sex...HA who am I kidding, I'm a sad seventeen year old virgin, and soon, I will be a sad eighteen year old virgin, oh joy.  The  Saunders family (including Alyssa and I) conversed a while, then we all went our separate ways. Austin and I went up to his room and listened to some music.

"Oh hey, I almost forgot." I got up off of his bed and pulled my wallet out. "Here."

"Ooh is it your credit card?" Austin asked like a 16 year old girl who is wrapped around their daddy's finger.

"What? No. It's a fake I.D you nerd." I showed him mine and he looked at me like we were committing a crime....

"Where did you get these?"

"I am graduating school with a specialty in computer software and hardware, I made them."

"And what I am going to do with this?" He asked and I rolled my eyes

"Who the fuck are you man? Go get alcohol, go get strippers, go become an organ donor for all I care, but right now.." I grabbed my jacket "We're going to a bar." I gave him a big grin and walked past him pulling him in the process.

As we arrived to the bar, Austin seemed nervous. "What? Don't act like you've never drinking before, because I know for a fact that isn't true. Now come on, lets go." I pulled him up to the front entrance. As we got up there, there was a guard by the door, which is odd because that never happens unless its a special night.

"Hi, reservation for two." I spoke in a sarcastic voice knowing that isn't what you do at a bar.

"Couple's night, beat it." The tall buff middle-eastern man spoke in a harsh voice.

"But we are a couple." I spoke hopefully, hugging Austins arm trying to make it more realistic. Austin tensed up, but didn't push me away. The man raised an eyebrow and allowed us to pass. When we got in we went straight to the bar.

"What can I get you fellas?" I white male with blonde hair and tired eyes asked us.

"Two whiskeys." We showed him our I.D.'s and he brought glasses over. He pulled the whiskey bottle out, threw a rag over his shoulder, and poured us our drinks

"Cameron?" Austin asked, then downed his shot.

"Hm?" I finished mine off, stuck two fingers in the air to indicate that we needed two more drinks.

"Why are you doing this? I was always such a dick to you, I don't deserve this."

"Oh please tell me you're not an emotional drinker, if so, go home." I blandly said

"No no, seriously, why?"

"Because man, I know you're a dick, but it was always so fun with you. I mean, your friends? No. I hated them and never would have done this with them. But you? You're okay, you're kinda like a sour patch kid." He gave me a look that asked to expand on the analogy. "First they're sour, then they're sweet, then they're gone! Except for the gone part, I'm not going all Hannibal on you." He smiled

After about fifteen shots, we were pretty drunk. We stumbled out of the bar, by this time it was almost dark and we had forgotten our way home. We came across this open field and the stars were just coming out, so we decided to lay down and watch them.

"They're beautiful." I announced in awe and Austin agreed. We lied next to each other in complete, comfortable silence. There was a gust of wind and it made me shiver, and Austin responded to getting closer so he could warm me. We sat up and he put his arm around me. I was too drunk to even care what was happening, I was just glad that I wasn't cold.

"Look!" I pointed "A shooting star, make a wish!" We both closed out eyes.

"Hey Cam?" He looked at me with a Cas confused face, and I've got to admit, it was pretty adorable.

"Yes'm?" I grinned, throwing my head back and leaning down, relaxing on my elbows. And then, his face flew towards mind and our lips collided.  But this time, I didn't push back right away. He kissed me and I kissed him back, and I kind of liked it. For a moment there, everything felt good, but I was quickly pulled out of that fake sense of reality and I stood up quickly. I didn't feel drunk anymore, and I knew exactly where I was. I rubbed my hands through my hair and over my face, and I quickly walked away from Austin, leaving him alone. As soon as I got far enough away from him, I was so confused, and angry, and..and

"FUUUUUUUUCK" I screamed. Then I found myself going to a friends so I wouldn't have to face Austin later.

Knock knock. A familiar face opened the door with a welcoming smile "Hi Oli." I grinned sheepishly and he let me in.
