Abel
When I wake up, my arms are wrapped around Aurora's body and she's facing towards me, her dark hair sprawled out across the pillow.
Studying her sleeping face, I brush my fingers against her cheek, feeling the soft and smooth skin.
Aurora starts moving around in her sleep and I quickly pull my hand away, thinking that she's going to wake up.
I watch as she turns her head and I move the strands of hair falling in her face away from her, so that it doesn't bother her in her sleep.
I freeze when I feel the back of Aurora's hand fall on my bulge. It stays there for a long time before brushing against me briefly.
"Fuck," I say under my breath before grabbing Aurora's hand gently and pushing it away.
I watch as she turns around and flings her arm around my stomach, nuzzling into my neck.
I stay frozen, not knowing what to do. I don't want to move her because I don't want to wake her.
Pushing Aurora off me gently, I edge away from her, so that our bodies are apart.
I look up at the ceiling, remembering about the night she told me I was going to be a Dad.
That was the happiest day of my life, I think to myself sadly.
"Morning," Aurora says quietly from beside me.
"Morning," I reply in a weak voice, still staring up at the ceiling.
"You okay?" Aurora asks now, shifting around under the covers.
I nod slowly. "Yep. Fine," I answer. I turn to look at her. "What do you think the baby would have been? A boy or a girl?"
Aurora blinks at me, sadness and guilt filling in her eyes. She shrugs, looking anywhere but at me. "I don't know," she whispers. "What do you think we would have had?"
"I think we would have had a little boy," I answer, smiling at the thought.
"I'm sorry, I can't do this," Aurora says, hastily jumping out the bed and running out the bedroom.
I hear the bathroom door swing open and Aurora beginning to cough and throw up.
Sighing, I get out the bed and walk out the bedroom, going to the bathroom and finding Aurora washing out her mouth.
She wipes her mouth with the back of her hand, her hand visibly shaking. "Every time I think about the baby, all I can think about is what he done," she whispers, eyes beginning to water.
"I shouldn't have brought it up," I say, instead of actually apologising.
Aurora shakes her head. "No," she says, looking down at her hands. "It's fine. There's no point in acting like it never happened because it did and it was my own damn fault."
I don't say anything. I just lean against the wall and watch as the tears slide down her face. "You should go home today," I tell her after a long time.
Aurora shakes her head furiously. "No!" she snaps. "I'll go when it's done, okay? Otherwise, I won't be able to sleep at night, knowing that he's not actually gone."
I bite down at the inside of my cheek and stare at Aurora blankly, studying her face silently. "Okay, fine," I say, walking towards her with my jaw clenched. "But just know, it's going to be a long time before he's actually dead."
Aurora nods, not saying a word, probably because she knows that if she does, she'll piss me off.
I flinch when she grabs my hand and squeezes. "Thank you," she whispers. "For doing this."
I shake my head. "He deserves it after everything he's done," I tell Aurora and she nods.
Looking down at our hands clasped together, my eyes land on one of the many scars on her leg.
I feel myself tensing up, remembering the night Aurora came to my house with all the cuts on her body.
"Do you want me to cook you breakfast?" Aurora is asking but I can't get myself to answer. "Abel? Abel?"
Without saying a word, I storm out the bathroom, hands clenched into fists, but before I can even go downstairs, Aurora grabs my arm, making me turn around to face her.
"Let go of me!" I snap, trying to shake her arm off.
"What happened?" Aurora asks, eyebrows furrowed. "Why are you so angry?"
I shake my head, breathing heavily and Aurora looks at me with worried eyes. "You still have the scars," I manage to say through gritted teeth. "From when he cut you."
Aurora's eyes follow mine to her legs and she looks back up at me, chewing on her lip and shifting around on her feet anxiously.
"I'm going to fucking make sure I do the same shit to him!" I growl before turning around again, only to be pulled back by her.
"Abel, stop," Aurora says in a soothing voice. "Just calm down. Come and sit down for a minute."
I allow her to pull me into the bedroom and watch with hard eyes as she sits down on the bed and forces me to sit beside her.
The anger inside me doesn't disappear and I tap my foot against the ground repeatedly, feeling my heart thump.
"Can I ask you something?" Aurora wants to know and I nod, still too angry to speak. "Do you still love me?"
I look at Aurora, lips parted and she blinks at me, waiting for an answer. "Yes," I say, causing a small smile to spread across her lips. "Of course I do. Why?
Aurora shrugs and shakes her head. "I don't know, I guess I thought that you hated me so much that you fell out of love with me or something," she admits.
I shake my head. "That would never happen," I tell Aurora, squeezing her hand gently. "No matter how angry I am with you."
Aurora nods, staring at me for a long time. Biting down on her lip, she gets up and climbs onto my lap, straddling me.
"What are you doing?" I ask, looking up at her with questioning eyes.
Aurora shakes her head and puts a finger to my lips. "Sshh," she hushes before pushing me back on the bed.
Before I know it, my sweatpants and boxers are being taken off and flung to the side and Aurora has my member in her hand.
She starts swirling her tongue around and I peer down to find her eyes locked on mine as she takes all of me in her mouth and begins sucking.
I relax against the bed, closing my eyes and revelling in the feeling of her mouth wrapped around me.
"Fuck," I grunt, my hand running through her hair and gripping at it roughly.
I open my eyes and peer down again, watching as her head bops up and down.
My breathing becomes heavier and I feel myself throbbing in her mouth, indicating that I'm about to reach my high.
After a couple of minutes, I shoot straight in Aurora's mouth and she pulls back, swallowing every last drop.
She wipes her mouth with the back of her hand and pulls up my boxers and sweatpants for me before collapsing on the bed beside me.
Aurora touches my cheek, smiling. "Feeling more relaxed?" she asks with a giggle.
"Yeah," I say, my voice hoarse and she nods.
Aurora gets up, a satisfied smile on her face. "I'm going to make us breakfast," she announces.
