Alexa's POV
The more we run, the more tired I become. It is extremely exhausting and we have already ran for a long time. I need to sleep, desperately. I'm not going to say anything though, because Blake doesn't seem the least bit exhausted especially considering the fact he's getting farther and farther ahead of me. I just hope he notices and doesn't leave me in the dust out here, I have no idea where we are going so that would be kind of problematic.
We run for a few more minutes then luckily, he stops underneath one of the larger trees in the forest. He sits down against the trunk and once I catch up, I sit down next to him. He pulls out two water bottles, one for each of us, and we both chug them down. We were both extremely thirsty.
"You should sleep. We're going to need our sleep if we want to make it the rest of the way to the car. I'll take first watch." Blake says, turning to look at me, with tiredness in his eyes. I look at him and think, figuring out how to respond.
"No. I think you should rest first. You seem more tired than I do. Besides, I don't mind." I say, looking him in the eyes. He looks at me seriously.
"No. You need your sleep more than I do. Trust me, I'll be fine. Besides, I don't mind either. I do mind, however, that you sleep more than I do. So please, I'll take the first watch. I'll wake you up in a few hours when it's your turn to take watch or unless something happens." I don't want to get into an argument over this so I lay down on the cold hard dirt and turn to face away from him. I close my eyes and try to sleep.
He wasn't lying, I really am tired. I am extremely exhausted and sleep right now sounded amazing, even if it was on this cold hard ground, outside in the middle of the forest. I lay there for a few moments and before I know it, I fall into a deep sleep.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I awake to see myself turned towards Blake. He was leaned against the trunk still, fast asleep. So much for taking first watch, I thought but smiled anyway. He was cute when he slept, that not being meant to be creepy in anyway. His head was bent in a way that looked very uncomfortable so his head was leaning against the trunk, with his eyes gently closed and mouth a little bit open. Surprisingly, he wasn't snoring. This is strange because I totally thought that Blake was a snorer. Ah well, I DID assume so I shouldn't be too surprised. I think, as I stare at him. He was going to have neck cramps when he wakes up that's for sure.
The sun was just barely starting to rise, so I would have to assume it is about 7 am. I was too much of a softie to wake Blake up, so I just sit there and watch as he sleeps as I wait. Like presumed, he starts to come to not too long after that. Me, being me, felt like experimenting so I lay back down quickly and kept my eyes open enough for me to see but for him to not know that I'm awake. I watch as he slowly comes to, and lifts his head to look at me. He smiles a bit, which makes me just a bit giddy inside but I don't move. I don't know why I want to pretend to be asleep but something inside of me tells me that I should, so I did.
"Dang. I fell asleep. Ah well, at least Alexa is able to get a good nights rest. She's still asleep, huh." He says to himself, unaware that I can hear him. I smirk a bit, without him seeing, he talks to himself. That's kind of funny, but adorable at the same time. But what he says next, was the last thing that I expected.
"Oh Alexa. Will I ever be able to tell you how I truly feel?... I love you Alexa, and I wish you felt the same." As I lay there after hearing those words, I am shocked beyond belief. He has feelings for me. He actually has feelings for me, and just out of the blue said so.
I don't know if this is amazing or terrible. I'm just too shocked at the moment. I can't believe he actually has feelings for me. Imagine what he would do if he knew I heard him...
