Your Warmth

The next morning he wasn’t there. Is it too much to ask him to wake up with me? I rubbed my tired eyes and the reality of what happened yesterday hit me. With him I feel like I’m between a rock and a hard place. The rock is him and the hard place is him again. Are we together now? I don’t know. I stretched out my limbs and leisurely walked to my balcony.

“Burr, it’s cold.” I said out loud. It’s saturday, I hope Vicktor will meet Momo....

“Felix!” A muffled yell carried up the stairs from my mother. I shut the french doors out to the balcony and hurried down the stairs. My mother motioned towards the door over her shoulder. She’s making breakfast? How strange. Another knock echoed through the house as I fumbled towards the door knob. I opened the door and almost fainted I was so happy.

“Momo!” I pretty much yelled. I wrapped her dainty figure in my arms. She looked a lot different from the last time I saw her. Her long dark brown hair was dyed black with purple streaks. She was also a lot more skinny and her light brown eyes no longer held any warmth. I released her and held her at arms length. She was dressed in black and her skin was pale.

“Do you feel okay?” She shrugged her shoulders and impassively said nothing.

“Momo...” I held her arm in my hand and gently stroked the scars. She glared at me and pulled her arm away.

“Get dressed, I want to go somewhere.” I raised an eyebrow at her.

“Where exactly?”

“That’s for you to find out. Hurry up.” With a flick of her wrist she motioned up the stairs. I giddily obeyed and ran up the stairs to get changed.

“Momo, where are we going?”

“Don’t call me that and you’ll find out.”

We made our way through what seemed to be a labyrinth of cars and the smell of sweat filled my nostrils. Loud music began to play and the closer we got the sooner I realized she was taking me to a secluded get together. We use to come here and play pool with some of the rockers in the town over. She entered the building that had a very prison feel to it. Wow, I haven’t been here in years. She smiled at me and gripped my hand with her cold ones. She pulled me over to a room with a whole bunch of other people who resembled her new look very much. When she closed the door the music muffled and I observed the bad graffiti on the walls. She walked to a group of people and greeted them in some weird way as if acknowledging her own kind. I awkwardly waved as they all turned to look at me.

“Why did you bring one of those here?” A lanky boy asked who’s eyes I couldn’t even see. I frowned. One of those?

“He’s cool, stop being a dick.” This whole situation was weird. Momo didn’t even ask me how I have been or... Anything at all to be exact.

“I’m just saying there are a few newbies who might lose it.” Lose it? Because I’m gay? What the hell is up with this place?

“Felix, come here.” I obeyed Momo. She kept her tight firmly on my shoulders.

“Everyone this is my friend Felix.” They all grouted some form of response. I don’t like these people. I am way out of place here. A guy handed Momo a drink and she drank happily. What if he drugged that or something? We sat down on some dirty beanbags and i watched as this stranger in front of me associated herself with these other strangers. I don’t like it here, i want to leave. Some girl walked over and tried to hit on me. I tried to nicely reject her but she was very persistent.

“I’m sorry but I like guys...” She shrugged her shoulders and walked away. I frowned as Momo talked secretly with the same guy from earlier. He slipped her a small bag of something and she kissed him as a thanks. Where is this place? What universe have I stepped into?
