A knock on Violets bedroom door came as she just finished tucking a gold chain into her t-shirt, which had her engagement ring on the end. After about an hour of convincing her Jones had finally made her agree to where the ring on a chain around her neck. True to her word that’s what she was doing.

‘’The Tardis has landed, are you coming,’’ She was relieved when it turned out to just be Jones behind the door.

‘’Yeah, just give me a second,’’ She replied, grabbing a denim jacket before she opened her door to follow Jones into the control room and out of the Tardis.

At first glance all Violet could see what she thought was an abandoned planet, with cargo containers dumped everywhere. However, upon hearing a train wiz past behind her, she soon realised they must have travelled to earth again.

‘’When are we?’’ Jones asked looking around at the containers that surrounded them.

‘’Near future, yeah?’’ Rose said adding to Jones’s question.

‘’I had a passing fancy. Only it didn't pass, it stopped,’’ The Doctor replied with a grin as her gestured for the group to follow him, to which they did.

They hadn’t gone very far when Violet spotted a street sign that read; Dame Kelly Holmes Close, in big bold letters.

‘’Thirtieth Olympiad,’’ She heard her father exclaim. She wasn’t going to lie, but it did take her a while to figure out what he was on about, but after some thought it soon came to her. The annual four year summer Olympic games.

‘’No way! Why didn't I think of this? That's great,’’ Rose squealed in delight, though upon turning to look at Jones and Violet she noticed that they did not share her excitement.

‘’Only seems like yesterday a few naked Greek blokes were tossing a discus about, wrestling each other in the sand with crowds stood around baying. No, wait a minute that was Club Med. Just in time for the opening doo dah, ceremony, tonight, I thought you'd like that. Last one they had in London was dynamite. Wembley, 1948. I loved it so much; I went back and watched it all over again. Fella carrying the torch. Lovely chap, what was his...’’ But all three of the Doctor’s companions had stopped listening him a long time ago. Their attention had diverted from the Time Lord to a man who seemed to be sticking up posters on to various lampposts.

‘’Mark? John? Mark? Legs like pipe cleaners, but strong as a whippet,’’ The Doctor continued unawre that nobody was even following him anymore.

Curiosity getting the better of Rose, Violet and Jones, they each wandered up to the same poster and stood their tiptoes to read what was printed on it. To Violet’s surprise it was the face of a child, a boy to exact and on the bottom was printed a name and phone number; John Mark, 19251991.

‘’Doctor,’’ Rose called.

‘’And in those days, everybody had a tea party to go to,’’ He carried on ramberling totally ignoring Rose’s shouts.

‘’Doctor!’’ She tried again.

‘’Did you ever have one of those little cakes with the crunchy ball bearings on top?’’ Violet let out a sign as she just watched her father carry on talking and walking further way from them.

‘’You should really look at this,’’ Rose said this time hopping he’d hear her,

‘’Do you know those things? Nobody else in this entire galaxy's ever even bothered to make edible ball bearings. Genius,’’ The Doctor replied finally turning around to see that every single one of his companions were huddled around a lamppost looking up at a piece of paper that hung limply of it.
