The desert wind was howling, dragging sand across the barren land. A single camel was moving steadily through the whole desert, carrying not only several various goods on its back, but a peddler woman dressed in faded blue robes.

Oh, I come from a land, from a faraway place
Where the caravan camels roam.
Where it's flat and immense and the heat is intense
It's barbaric, but hey! It's home!

The camel reached the top of a sand dune, just as an entire city became visible. But that wasn't the first thing the peddler had noticed. It was the large, gorgeous palace looming over the city. The peddler stopped her camel, looking out to the palace with a small smile, before urging her camel forwards once more, humming a small tune underneath her breath.

When the wind's from the east
And the sun's from the west
And the sand in the glass is right
Come on down, stop on by
Hop a carpet and fly
To another Arabian night!

The camel made it through a gate into city, passing by the select few performers still out at the current hour. However, instead of staying on the narrow main street, the peddler led her camel down an alleyway off to the side.

Arabian nights, like Arabian days!
More often than not, are hotter than hot!
In a lot of good ways!

"Arabian nights! 'Neath Arabian moons!" The peddler suddenly began to sing, just as the camel stumbled to a halt in the alleyway, looking rather tired. "A fool off his guard could fall and fall hard, out there on the dunes!" The camel collapsed onto its stomach, just as the peddler slipped off.

"Ah, what a wonderful evening! And in this great city of Agrabah too!" She said, mostly to her self. "But, where are my manners? Salaam, and good evening, my worthy friend!" She turned, smiling directly at you. "I see you've been following me for quite a while. I won't deny it was a bit...off-putting, but wonderful nonetheless. And, I know what you must be here for, yes?"

You quickly tried to explain that this just happened to be the way to your home here in Agrabah, and that you happened to be out of town for a few months. But the peddler wouldn't hear any of it. She suddenly pulled on a rope tying her...things to her camels. Suddenly, an entire market stall popped out, along with several different pots and pans hanging from the top.

"Yes, the finest merchandise this side of the River Jordan! All on sale tonight for you, my worthy friend!" The peddler said, rushing behind her stall. "So, what're you looking for, hm?" Once again, you tried to explain you were just on your way home, when the peddler let out a gasp. "Oh, wait! You must be looking for this limited edition hookah and coffee maker combination! You can smoke and have coffee at the same time! Also makes juliene fries!" She gave it a few experimental knocks on the counter. "It won't break, you have my certification or your money back--" You flinched, as part of the top of the strange machine suddenly bounced off, only hanging on by a spring. "Nevermind, it broke.

"What about this then? Ooooh, I've never seen something like this intact!" The Peddler quickly said, throwing the machine over her shoulder and bringing out a cardboard box. "The Dead Sea Tupperware! I wonder if its still good? Would you like to see?" You hesitantly try to open the box, but you only get it open a crack. The Peddler made a farting noise with her mouth before slamming the box close. "Yes, indeed! All still in pristine condition!" This was getting old, very fast.

Shaking your head, you begin to walk back the other way, deciding it was better to just take the long way back home. The Peddler, somehow sensing exactly what you were thinking, threw the box over her shoulder, vaulting the stall and grabbing your shoulder.

"Wait, wait, wait! I know you must not be interested in such boring merchandise, I should've known." She said quickly. "If that is the case....then you will undoubtedly be interested in this, yes?" She reached into her robes, pulling out....another lamp. You raised an eyebrow, giving the peddler a questioning look. "Ah, I see that look on your face. Don't be fooled by it's commonplace appearance, for it is what's on the inside that counts...This lamp is special. For it tells the tale of a young woman whose fate was changed."
