Part 1

Jax let Xander in and looked at him with hate, remembering what happened last time he trusted him and his guild.

*Flashback*

    "Jax go in for the kill!" Xander yelled as Jax ran into the heat of war to kill the boss.
Jax feels a sharp pain in his back and screams, he looks back to see many arrows in his back and shoulders, Jax tries to run but is stopped by Xander and then everything goes black.
    Jax wakes up a few hours later to icy cold water being splashed on his face and torso, he realizes that he is bound by ropes to a chair and struggles, "LET ME GO XANDER"
There's a laugh from the corner and when he looks over he sees the head of the Imperial Knights, James, "Long time no see, little brother."
Jax struggles to get out of the binding but can't escape, "Why are you doing this, James?"
    James laughs and looks Jax in the eyes, "Because you deserve it little hero"
James pulls out a table of tools that look sharp and painful, "Prepare yourself Jax... YOU'RE GONNA DIE LIKE A DOG"

*3 ½ hours later*

    Jax looks up at James with blood running down the side his face and tears in his eyes. His mouth tasted like sweat, blood, and tears, he could hardly hear with the ringing in his ears, his usual bright ocean blue eyes were dark with pain and betrayal. For the first time he was truly alone in this world.
    "Just.. kill ... me...." Jax says weakly yet angrily.
James laughs as he digs a knife into Jax's ribcage and out his back. Jax blacks out from the pain finally and wakes up in a new room that looks like hospital and looks around to sees his old friend Fawn, she was holding his hand and mumbling to herself when he cleared his throat. Fawn blushed and let go of his hand, "I became the leader of the hunters and we came to save you cuz I felt like something was wrong"
She looks down and thinks she's rambling on "I wanted to check on you and I wanted to be here when you woke up so I've been here for about 3 ½ days"
Fawn takes a deep breath "We will be arriving in the city soon, I hope you dont mind cuz I'm not turning around now."
    Jax smiles "That means I'm closer to my goal now, Dalmasca is right by the tower and I wanna beat that bastard when I can. I'm ready." He says with determination. He looks out the window to see all the clouds below him and sees how wonderful this world is and how much better it'll be without monsters, beautiful and peaceful.

They arrive in Dalmasca after 6 ½ hours and Jax immediately runs off the airship into the crowd and bumps into a strangely familiar man and sees that it's Kai. "J-Jax.. Is that you?"
