"Long time no talk little brother" Jax looks at his brother with anger and snaps at him, "What the hell are you doing here?"
Maverick smiles evilly and pulls a small L shaped item out of his pocket and pointed it at Jax, there was a loud bang and Jax fell to his knees. He looked down at his blood soaked shirt then back at his older brother, "What the hell... is this..?"
"I call it a gun, it shoots little metal things" The shady man smiled with an evil glimmer in his eye and stepped closer, "Payback."
Jax closes his eyes tight then hears something hit the ground with a thud. He opens his eyes and sees his brother on the ground, blood streaming out of his face, and him not moving at all. Jax gets up and runs away, not looking back, he enters the inn and goes to his room and locks the door then sitting behind the door, using his body as a barricade.
He pants as he checks the time, 11:17pm.
He looks around cautiously and gets up. He walks over to his bed in silence and lays down, staring at the ceiling, thinking to himself about the girl he met and hated then saved and loved. He sighs and turns over, looking at the wall he studies every imperfection, every dent, crack, and stain. He thinks of it like a person, born without anything, like a canvas at first it is blank, but as time goes on things change, the person becomes scarred and molded by their environment, the canvas gets painted, the building gets damaged. Jax continues to think and wonder about the world he lives in, and the people in it, then drifts off to sleep.

The next morning Jax woke up and looked around the cold, lonely room. The room he hated but loved, the room he sleeps in alone, the room that echos and holds all the sadness in the air like a thick syrup. He stands up and puts on his clothes, black long sleeve, black jeans, black cloak, yin and yang swords, and fingerless gloves. He walks out of the room and checks out of the inn, his things were in a small satchel around his shoulders and he walks to Luna's house.
When he gets to her door he breathes in and thinks about what he'll say to her, he knocks on the door softly.
She answers with a smile on her face but that smile slowly fades when she sees the dismal look on his face, the regret showing in his eyes, and the swords on his back. He was leaving for the tower and he wasn't coming back unless he beat it, she knew that.
"I-I wanted to say goodbye.." he holds his hand out for her to shake but she jumps into his arms and sobs against his chest, begging him not to go.
"Luna I can't-" she presses her lips against his to silence him, she deepens the kiss and drags him inside. He pulls away, "I can't stay Luna.. I'm leaving and I don't think I'm coming back... I'm sorry." He walks out of the house and towards the station.
When he gets to the station he looks back, thinking about his future and how he won't have one, he remembers everything he's been through, everyone he's saved, and everything he's lost.
He gets on the express train to the tower, usually for tourists and kids running away. Whenever someone is recognised as a fighter against the tower they get a 'last meal' of whatever they want or any weapon they want. He chose a piece of armor stronger than anything and lighter than air, the master cloak.
He walks up to the entrance of the tower and looks up, "Just get to the 17th floor and win." he whispers to himself.
