hi, I'm Taylor or tay to my friends, I'm a 17 year old hunter in district 4, I'm also the only girl in my family and I'm the one who gets all our food, I have 3 brothers, Alec, Michael and Joey, all three of them work down in the mines on a small salary in the hope of helping to pay for food, but most of the time it's claimed by the capital, the little money we have is used to pay for clothes and smaller food produce, but off that subject, more onto a serious one, it's two day before the 80th hunger games, me and prim are so terrified after she was picked 5 years ago, oh yeah, primrose is my best friend, and katinis was my friend too, but after she went missing in the 75th hunger games prim has been torn apart, but the thing that makes things 10 times harder for both of us is that a sort of mini war has began to break out between the peacekeepers and the districts so me and prim have to stay inside for most of the day, which is very boring.
You know I used to have 4 brothers, but one of them, JJ or Jason to us, he was beaten to death 2 weeks ago, and dad hasn't coped too well, he's been devastated and I'm the only one there for him and he's so grateful for it, and to make matters worse is that Alec, Michael and Joey have decided to go in to support a planned capital war... I couldn't take it. I cut, I burned, I jumped, I tried to kill myself, but prim saved me, and I owe my life to her, I'd rathe not go into details about it, it quite a delicate subject for me.
Actually I think I'd better tell you about someone or some people, they work down in the mines, I've only seen them a few times, but they were some of the best guys I've ever met, and another thing is that one of them is a victor! actually the only victor in district 9, their names are Adam, Ty, Jerome, Tyler, Quentin, Ian, Annie, Ashley and Mitch, I'm great friends with Annie and Ashley, partly the fact that they're the only girls that help in the mines. I'm actually kind of surprised that they're all friends because Annie and Quentin are in district 2, Ian and Tyler are in district 7, Adam and Ty are in district 4 with us, Jerome and Mitch are in district 11 and Ashley is in district 9, yep Ashley is a victor, and that's what confuses me, why would a victor be working in the mines? something for me to find out.
