As you walked out of the room and into the kitchen you could hear things being shouted. "Did that just happen?" "I'm so shook!" "MY NEW MOM AND DAD?" All these things made you laugh until you thought about how Jaeden was feeling about the whole thing. Was he now disguised by you. Did you ruin a perfectly good friendship with a stupid kiss just to get your phone back? You let the thoughts continue as you reached for a glass and started to fill it with water from the fridge. You brought the cup to your mouth hoping the water would calm your nerves.
"Um y/n can we talk." Jaeden's voice coming from the kitchen entrance almost made you spit out your water but you kept it in. You placed the cup down on the counter and slowly turned towards him. "Ummm yeah Jae." You said as you heart started to leap from your chest.
He walked over to where you were standing and leaned against the opposite counter you where at and looked at you. "So what happened in there." He said a slight laugh in his voice but you could tell he was still being serious. Your mouth became dry and words didn't seem to be able to function. You went to speak and nothing came out. "Did it mean something to you?" He said after you didn't answer his initial question. This time words came out. "No. Yes! I mean, I don't know. Did it mean anything to you?" He paused for a second. The pause felt like a hesitation on his part. "I felt something but I don't know if it was attraction or just the thought of someone's lips on mine."
Your heart shattered. He didn't feel the same say towards you as you did to him. You felt a burning sensation in the back of your throat like you were about to cry. You held it in. You had too. "Oh, well I'm sorry I did that Jae. It was impulsive of me and I should have thought you didn't feel that way about me." You voice started to shake as you spoke. You had to stay strong. "I just. Why did you do it?" His eyes locked into yours and you couldn't look away.
"I like you Jaeden. I have for, oh goodness like 3 years. Every time I'm near you I get these overwhelming nervous butterflies." A single tear fell. "You have been my best friend through so much and I just thought. Well obviously I though wrong because you don't feel the same way I do. I get it though. The people we love don't always love us back. I'm sorry I put you in this position Jae. I'll just um, go." You wiped the now waterfall of tears from your face and swiftly turned around.
"Oh fuck it." You heard as a hand wiped you around and a pair of lips were on yours. You kissed him back as his hand was placed gently on your hip and his other was on the back of you head tangled in your hair. He pulled away from you and cupped your face with his hands.
"I suck at showing my emotions y/n. I have liked you since the moment I laid eyes on you. Your laugh, your smile, the may you look so intently when reading. I feel in love with every piece of you. I've known I've wanted to be more then friends. I'm hoping this could be my chance." His blue eyes searched your for an answer.
"I wouldn't wanna be more then friends with anyone else." You pecked his lips quickly. His hands slowly left your cheeks and he slipped his hand into yours and you two walked back to the ground. Hand and hand. He was finally yours.
