*This is based on my nightmare I had last night. It does have some trigger warning in it so I will address that.

Trigger warning: Depression, slight bullying and talk of suicide. (I'm always here for you guys. I love you all.)

I had some of the best friends in the world, the losers club. They have been there for me through the toughest moments of your life. A major one being my father passing away in 6th grade. (I'm guessing they are like freshman in high school. Maybe? Just go with it) They are the only people who don't see me as some annoying mess, or so I thought.

Head down and trying to stay out of everyone's way. That is how I walked through the hallways at school. The only time I didn't feel like a complete target was when I was with the losers. I feel like I belong somewhere and have a meaning when I'm with them. Speaking of the losers it was Richie's birthday today.

I finally see the gang gathered at the bike rack. I dodged people as I made my way over to join them. "Hey birthday boy!" I said as I approached the group, putting an arm on Richie's shoulder. He rolled his eyes at me but I shrugged it off has Richie being Richie.
"We are going to Bill's house and having cake and giving Richie his presents." Eddie piped in with a small smile. "Oh yes your gift!" I quickly took off my backpack and immediately unzipped the front pocket. I pulled out the mediocrely wrapped gift, waving it at him and zipping up my bag back up.

"You didn't have to get me anything." Richie said not even looking at me but trying to step on Stan shoes who in return tried to smack him. "It's what friends do Richie." You said how rolling your eyes at the boy.

*time skip to being at Bills house*

"CAKE TIME!" Richie screamed as he ran over to the cake and went to stick his finger in the frosting but Eddie swats at his hand. "You know we open gifts first. It's a loser club rule." Eddie said and Richie huffed out in annoyance.

After opening everyone else's gifts it was my turn. I walked up and handed Richie my gift. He took it in his hands and felt the squishy packaging. He tore open the wrapping to see a new Hawaiian print shirt. Wrapped in the shirt was a VHS copy of Ferris Bueller's Day off and a card wrapped in a sealed blue envelope. "Oh um, thanks Y/n I really like them." He said in a tone that seemed happy but at the same time seemed annoyed. You only smiled in return. "OKAY NOW ITS CAKE TIME" Richie screamed and carelessly throw your gift to the side.

"I'm going to go wash my hands." You said but no one seemed to really be paying attention. As you walked to the bathroom thoughts clouded your head. Everyone is acting so strange. Did I do something. Am I invading. You washed your hands and took a deep breath and looked up into the mirror. You tried to shake off the bad thoughts. You didn't wanna ruin Richie's birthday.

As you walked out of the bathroom you heard whispers coming from the room everyone was in and you didn't think anything of it until you heard your name.

"Why did you even say anything to Y/n Eddie? You know she brings the mood down at these kind of things." Your heart drop to the pit of your stomach. "Shes our friend so I figured she'd be more upset if we didn't invite her. You know how she is sometimes." Eddies voice hitting you like a stab in the back. "I-I-it's not h-h-her fault s-s-shes like t-t-that." Bill spoke but his words still hurt. "We know, her dads dead. She doesn't have to constantly mop around though it gets annoying." Stan spoke in an annoyed tone. "Yeah sometimes I wish we never befriended her." The last comment my Richie broke you.

You took a deep breath as you tried to make it seem like you didn't hear anything as you walked back into the room. "Finally we can start now." You held back more tears. The muffled tone of happy birthday was heard through the room as you stood in complete shock and overwhelming sadness. The song came to its end to when when Richie would make his wish and you made one as well. I wish I wasn't alive.

Richie's POV

My mom woke me up telling me to get my ass out of bed and get ready for school. My birthday may have been yesterday but apparently it's officially over because it back to the real world. I threw on my usual attire and grabbed my bike and stared on my way to school.

Once I finally arrived at the dreaded place I parked my bike and waited for the rest of the losers. Bill was the first to arrive like always. Then Stan. Then Eddie. Y/n never showed up to the bike rack. It was strange but I wasn't complaining.

I got to lunch when I realized I hadn't seem y/n all day. So I decide to ask the losers if they know anything. "Guys, have any of you seen Y/n at all today?" I asked immediately taking an bite of my sandwich. "Y/n who?" Stan asked looking confused. "Ummmm Y/n L/n. What other Y/n you dip shit." I said continuing to eat. Till I noticed everyone stoped eating. "What?" I asked totally lost now. "P-p-please don't l-l-let t-t-this be some s-s-sick joke of y-y-y-yours because I-I-it's not a f-f-funny one." Bill said with disapproval written all over his face. "Umm no I really don't know where she is. What's going on?" Only silence followed.

"You mean you don't remember? Summer of 7th grade?" Stan said looking more serious then usual if that was even possible. "I do slightly. Why? What does that have to do with Y/n?" I asked. Eddie took a deep breath before speaking "Richie, Y/n L/n committed suicide the summer of 7th grade. It's been almost 2 years. How do you not remember that?" My heart stopped. They were joking with me. "Haha very funny guys. What is she going to pop out somewhere. She was at my birthday party yesterday dumb asses." I said taking another bite of my sandwich.

"Richie we aren't kidding. That's a sick thing to joke about." Stan said no sign of him joking in any of his words. "B-but she was at my party and she gave me a- SHE GAVE ME A GIFT AND A CARD." I said and look at their now worried faces. "Richie, maybe it was a dream or well a nightmare." Eddie said putting his hand on my shoulder but I moved away from him. "No, I'm going home and I'll bring the card in and show you all."

*time skip to his house because I'm lazy*

I raced up to my room and went to look at the pile of gifts from yesterday. Everyone's was there, but hers. I moved everything around until I saw the blue envelope. I quickly grabbed it and turned it around. Richie. Was writing across the top in her neat handwriting, hearts dotting the I's of my name. I carefully opened the envelope and pulled out the card. I didn't even look at the front of the card I just opened it and started to read.

Dear Richie,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You are getting so old man. I'm just kidding. I'm writing in here to say thank you. Thank you for being my friend and making me laugh in my times of sadness and despair. You will never understand how much you changed my life when you and the losers found me at the quarry that day near the cliff. That's a story for another day. I hope when you blow out your candles today whatever you wish for comes true because my wish had come true, to find people that make me feel like I belong somewhere. So thank you for that. Again happy birthday and may your wish come true.
Love,
Y/n

I froze. I did this. My wish did this. My wish was never to have met her. It was an implosive wish but it was what I thought of as I blew out the candles. By us losers befriending her made it so she didn't end her life that day. Now she gone because of a stupid wish. A girl who despite all she had gone through was bubbly and filled with laughs was gone because of my dumb wish.

IM ACTUALLY CRYING. I'm sorry this is so sad but like I said it was a nightmare/ dream I had and I wanted to make it into something. I love you all and please don't ever think suicide is an option because it's not.You have so many people who love and care about you. Keep fighting. 💜🎈
