What if: Spencer and Alex

6th Grade

Alex: Come on Spencie!

Spencer: I'm coming Alexandra!

Alex: Don't call me Alexandra!

Spencer: Sorry, Alex.

Spencer follows Alex to the playground where a blond girl is picking on a shorter girl with glasses.

Alex: Hey!

Alex runs over to the blond girl and pushes her over. Spencer runs as well and pulls Alex back.

Spencer: Alex!

The blond girl gets back up and shoves Alex on the ground.

Alison: Don't touch me. Come on ladies.

Four other girls appeared behind the mischievous blond. Two other blondes and two brunettes stood tall defending their leader. One by one they walked in a line following the little blond.

   When the twins got back to class from recess, they discovered that the bully squad was in there gym class. Their class was in the pool today, so all the girls got changed in their swimsuits. While Spencer was chatting with some girl next to her locker, Alex felt a sharp pain in her back. She turned around to that same girl from the playground holding a rolled up towel.

Alex: What is wrong with you!

Alison: What do you mean?

The blue eyed girl swung the towel back and forth smiling devilishly, then walked off. The girls into the pool, splashing each other or playing basketball. Spencer again went off to talk to her friends, while Alex freestyled around the shallow end. In the distance, she noticed a tan colored girl dive into the deep end and swim like a torpedo to the other side.

    She was one of the girls siding with the mean blond during recess. As she admired the gracefulness of the girls dive, she was pushed underwater. Her head was forced underneath the shallow waters. Alex struggled for air, coming up to the surface for milliseconds before being put back under. She started to breath in water, slowly losing consciousness. At the last second she felt someone pull her out of the water and bring her to the locker room.

    As Alex's vision cleared, she saw the tanned girl staring down at her.

Emily: Are you okay?

Alex: (cough) (cough) I'm.....okay.

    Spencer noticed her sister being taken to the locker room and rushed over to her side.

Spencer: Alex!

Alex: Spence....

    She suddenly passed out with everyone screaming at her to stay awake. Spencer looked around as the gym teachers called 911. Her eyes landed on a certain blond in the background of it all, acting like she was concerned. Spencer swore she saw a strand of brown hair in her hand.
