Ricky's POV
Hell fire and disaster is all I could see in Rem's gaze and I was too petrified with crippling terror to do anything. Rem had a secure grasp on my throat as I was backed up against the wall, I was certain that he'd strangle me to death for Chris's actions. Making sure to do it right in front of him for a sadistic enjoyment of watching his best friend be killed and he'd be completely powerless. I was lost in his eyes filled with a burning rage and no matter how much Chris yelled and begged for me to help him or attack Rem already, I could only hear a continuous ring in my ears. Any other sound was just a muffled mess. I knew that I was only moments away from blacking out but something in me knew that I couldn't give in now.
"Please! Fight! Do this for me!" Chris called to me while resisting the guard's hold on the floor.
Those few words knocked out of my empty stare and I have to act fast because I am beginning to suffocate. I reached for the metal at my side, pulling it from my belt line, my hand trembling as I built up the courage. My vision was starting to blur and the clock was ticking. It was now or never.
I promptly made a strong motion of my arm, driving the razor sharp metal into the side of Rem's neck, leaving it there as I hurried over to Chris. I dashed over to the piece that he dropped alongside him and, got into a ready position.
Rem didn't seem to react all that much to what I did. In fact, he just stayed there kneeling, holding his neck while the blood came dripping out of the wound.
"I can't tell you how many times one of my victims did the same thing. How original of you." He said with a smirk. "Good luck finding your way out of here. I'll give you at maximum an hour before I catch you" He chuckled and spoke with a sarcastic and deep tone as he turned around.
I was at a stand still thinking though my options in deep contemplation. Do I go and rescue Chris from the guard but risk getting killed because Rem had the second piece? Or do I run to seek my own freedom but leave Chris behind for dead? I focused myself back to Rem as he burst out with laughter, pulling the metal out of his flesh.
"You don't know what to do, which choice is the right one to make. You're scared and lost Ricky. You might as well just submit to this and allow this cell to be your tomb." His voice was menacing and the last part of that sentence sent chills down my spine.
I looked back at Chris struggling, then back at Rem. Taking a big gulp as I cleared my throat. There are only two ways out of here and both of them would be dripping in blood by the end of this living nightmare.
