Fading

Ricky's POV

My eyes glued to the wretched sight before me. What have I done? I was beginning to become scared of myself and was starting to doubt the amount of trust Chris had in me after the murder of Rem. I didn't know how I was ever going to heal after this. Forget about the scar fading, I just wanted this open wound in my conscious to scab over.

"Ricky! Come on." I lifted my gaze towards Chris as he called for me to follow him.

I was frozen still in my stance and couldn't will myself to want to go. I've spent so long in here that I couldn't imagine what it would be like to taste freedom again. I knew that if I left this room to the outside our lives would never return completely normal as it was before the ambush, we would still have these horrible memories but I refuse to stay to call this my tomb. This can't be how I go.

Taking in a deep breath I forced myself to take a step but as soon as my foot touched the floor again to try and take the next, I fell to the ground unable to get back up. My legs were so weak that they were practically useless and dead. Chris let out a loud gasp as he rushed to my aid, trying to get me to walk but I was hopeless in that. Picking me up, I wrapped my arm around his shoulders and without hesitation, we promptly left the white with red room. I glanced back quick as the door shut smoothly from our motion being detected. It was now Rem's tomb.

I rested my head on Chris's chest as he carried me bridal style and we made our way through the many hallways. Right, left, left, left and another right. It seemed like we've been traveling these halls forever but then we came across one steel large door. Next to it was a small key pad and a red light on a black scanner tablet. I lightly clawed on Chris's arm, staring up at him with big doe eyes. I was beginning to fade and fast like a oil lamp on it's last ounce of fluid.
