"Kody, you look great! Could you be any greener though? Man, what did I say about barfing in my room? If you need to throw up, go to the toilet!"
Both of us sweating and nervous, I comb my fingers through his blonde hair and straighten his blue plaid shirt, wanting every little detail to be perfect. It has to be, it's Kody's first date with Moe!
A dazed Kody fidgets and squirms underneath my touch, as he begins to hum in a strained hush. I place my hand on his flushed cheek and pat it; finally grabbing his attention. His eyes look into mine with fear and I smile. "You're going to be fine! Moe will love you! I mean, who wouldn't? You're smart, kind, and handsome-" I rambled.
Waking up from his daze, he chuckles. "Sorry, but I'm gay, remember?"
I fake a frown, "Oh right."
He rolls his eyes and grabs my face in between his warm hands. "Thank you," He whispers, his brown eyes glowing bright. He smiles and leans forward to give me a soft kiss on the forehead.
I blush and smile, grabbing his hand and leading us out of my claustrophobic bathroom. "Come on," I say. "We have to look like we're doing something productive, and not as if we were stalking him through the window."
He laughs behind me as I lead him down the hall and onto the living room couch. Sitting hip to hip, I unpause a re-run of Glee as I rest my head on his shoulder.
I can feel his racing heartbeat underneath his shirt and warm skin.
"Kody?" I ask, resting my chin on his shoulder to look up at him.
"Hm?"
"You know, if he breaks your heart, come and tell me so I can bash his head in."
He smiles and laughs, looking down at me with warm brown eyes. "Nice to know that I'll always have you to protect me."
I grin, sinking into his deeper into his chest, the warmthness of his arm around my neck comforting me. "Yep, I'll always be there-"
Suddenly, the doorbell rings, and the room falls silent.
Well, besides the voices of Glee singing softly from the television.
Kody pulls back his arm and rubs his hands on his pant legs in a rush. He launches from the couch and bites his lip, pacing back and forth in front of the couch. Standing up, I give him a side hug. He hugs me back, tightly, as we both stare at the door.
"Go get 'em tiger." I whisper.
He nods and in a rush, strides over to my front door. He wrings his hands together, once, twice, before opening the door. The same front door where a lot of unusual events have occurred; like meeting Joby, for example. But he was, is, the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Maybe it will be the same for Kody.
From my spot in the middle of the living room, I see Moe's brawn figure through the crack in the doorway, his tight blue Polo shirt revealing a sculpted 6-pack and bulging biceps. And even from here, I can easily find a glossy, coffee-brown pillow of hair on top of Moe's head.
Kody smiles, "H-Hi, Moe."
Moe smiles, (which was a very nice smile) before his hazel eye's look over Kody's shoulder and find me. He looks back and forth, confused, between Kody and I.
Kody and Moe whisper a few words back and forth, and after, Kody clears his throat and throws out a (iffy) lie.
"Um, Moe, this is my- sister Gable." He throws out a shaky smile and turns to look at Moe still standing in the doorway looking skeptical.
