Chapter fourteen: brave new world

Archie was sitting on the bus wondering about what just happened " was that it between us are we done? " he wondered to himself Archie then got up and went back into the school and decided to look for her but to couldn't find her but then he saw Betty and Jughead sitting down at and table and talking, he walked up to them and sat down next to Jughead.

"Hey Archie what's up?"Jughead asked"where's Veronica?".

"You guys didn't see her?"archie said and both of them shook there head.

"Why what happened?"Betty asked him.

"She got upset and ran in here and now I can't find her"Archie said.

"Well come guys let's go look for her then"Betty said.

"You don't have too, I don't want to ruin your guys alone time with my problem"Archie said.

"It's fine Arch right Jug?"Betty asked him.

"Yeah it's fine, it beats being here"Jughead said. The three teens walked into the hallway of the school and looked down each way of the hallway.

"Alright I will check the first floor and you guys check the second"Betty said"check all the classrooms and the stair cases and bathrooms" then just like that Betty was gone leaving Archie and Jughead alone.

"So my guess is that you told her?"Jughead said .

"Yep"Archie said.

"And my other guess is that she didn't take it well"Jughead said making Archie start walking towards the stairs to the second floor.

"No shit Jug"Archie said.

"Well Arch What did you expect"Jughead said"did you not think anyone was going to accept you leaving".

"No Jug I did not"Archie said.

"Well look I will go down that way and you will go the other way"Jughead said"meet back here" Archie nodded and walked off.

Betty was walking threw the hallway when she heard someone crying from a classroom she walked over and opened it up to see Veronica crying, she walked over to her and put her arm on her shoulder and Veronica jumped and so it was her.

"Veronica what happened?"Betty asked"why are you crying?".

"It's Archie"Veronica said"he's moving".

"What?"Betty said"he didn't tell me about this".

"Well welcome to the club Betty he just told me"Veronica said.

"I can't believe this"Betty said"I'm so sorry Veronica" Betty then hugged her which Veronica gladly accepted.

"Thanks B I really need a friend right now"Veronica said pulling away from Betty.

"So What are you going to do?"Betty asked her.

"I don't know"Veronica said wiping her tears away"I just need to think this threw alone".

"You sure?"Betty asked her.

"Yeah"Veronica said nodding"thanks B" Betty then got up and walked out of the room and shut the door behind her.

Archie walked back down the stairs to find Betty down there waiting for him,she was taping her foot to the ground and crossing her arms at him.

"Betty? Everything alright?"Archie asked his  best friend.

"Archie we have to talk"Betty said"follow me" she then grabbed Archie's hand and took him outside of the school to the front.

"What's up?"he asked her.

"Your moving?"Betty said.

"Who told you?"Archie asked.

"I doesn't matter who told me,it matters that you have been keeping this secret from me....me your best friend"Betty said.

"Betty I was going to tell you"Archie said"I wasn't going to have you wake up one day and see my house empty".

"Archie you can't move"Betty said"this is our home,we're we grew up and made all of our childhood memories".

"Betty this isn't my choice"Archie said.

"Then what if you can move in with me?"Betty said"or Jug".

"Betty this isn't your decision to make for me"Archie said"maybe it's for the best for me to leave Betty".

"Trust me Archie it isn't"Betty said"why would you even say something like that".

"Betty because of me riverdale became a war zone between me and Ronnie's Dad"Archie said"I almost killed him....Betty".

"Wha....What?"Betty said"you almost?".

"Betty who knows what will come here next"Archie said"maybe if I'm not here everyone and everything will get better".

Meanwhile In the dance a circuit has exploded from the outlet and a fire has started.

"Archie don't blame yourself for everything"Betty said.

"Yeah bu...."Archie stopped talking and looked up and saw smoke coming from the school"oh my god" then Betty turned around saw the same thing,then out of know where fire started bursting threw some windows and people started running out of the school.

"Oh my god Jug"Betty said.

"And Ronnie"Archie said, then Archie started running towards the school only to be stopped by Mr. weatherbee.

"Archie you can't go in there"he said,but Archie pushed him to the ground and ran inside looking for them two, he ran up stairs looking for Jug and started running in the hallways and looking threw the classrooms looking for him then he heard someone coming from one of the classes but the door knob was hot due to the heat and fire but Archie still put it on there and pushed them door open and saw Jughead on the ground with black smoke on his face.

"Jug!"Archie yelled then he ran over and picked him up and got him towards the bottom of the stairs before collapsing but he managed to pick himself and Jughead up and got him out of the school where there where firefighters and police there"help someone please help me" then a firefighter came up to Archie and took Jughead head towards an ambulance. Archie then ran back inside to find Veronica and ran threw the first floor looking for her he then heard crying in the distance, Archie ran hoping it was her he got to the door and opened it Archie could not feel nothing in his left hand due it to being burned badly by the heat, he saw Veronica on the ground being pinned down by a shelf.

"Ronnie!"Archie yelled as he got on his knees to comfort her"it's okay I'm here".

"Archie please get me out of here"she pleaded as her voice was filled with pain, Archie then put his hands under the book shelf and used his muscle to lift it off of her.

"Come let's go Ronnie"Archie said grabbing her and putting one arm under her back and the other under legs"Ronnie hold on to my neck" she did as he said then he started to run out of riverdale high as he felt heat running down the back of his neck he ran out of there covered in smoke,he made his way over towards the ambulance as they took her and put her on a stretcher and put her in.

"It will be okay Ronnie"Archie said"I...promise"Archie then turned around as he saw riverdale high burn to the ground.
