Jeff and I sat on the floor, doing nothing really staring at each other while the TV played in the background. Nothing but sweet silence.

I'm bored. I let my gaze falter from Jeff's face, my eyes traced over each detail from the loose seams on his shirt to his long unkempt nails. His nails....are gross, like disgusting but he refuses to cut them.....Idea!!!
"Jeff can I paint your nails!?" I blurted the question out without even thinking about it, damn. he did nothing but stare for moments. till his face flushed bright pink very suddenly.
"what?! Why?!" he seemed embarrassed...so cute.
"because I'm bored?" I said like it was obvious. He frantically shook his head. "come on! please? just once?"
"No! Fuck that." he held his hands to his chest." besides you don't even know how to paint nails!"
"yes, I do!" I refuted
"see? you don't eve- wait what the fuck? you do?" he looked like a deer caught in the headlights
"Yeah. I did Joey's nails a lot when they were little" I smirked as I watched Jeff's face as he tried to find a different excuse.
"ugh fine okay" He put his hand in mine as I towed him toward the bathroom "I mean hey! what's the worst that could happen?"

Jeff stared at his hands as they shook slightly
"i-i thought you said you could paint nails" he deadpanned toward me as I stood shuffling in place nervous
