Prologue

Maaga akong pumasok. It's a great way to start the school year, pagkahatid sa akin ng kuya ko na pupungay pungay pang bumaba kanina para lang ihatid ako, dumiretso na ako agad ng student council office, para makapag-time in at makapagpractice na ng speech ko. Bago ko pa man makuha ang yellow pad na naglalaman ng speech ko bigla ng tumunog 'tong phone ko.

I'll be there by 6. Same place?

oh shocks. muntik ko na malimutan ang usapan namin.

From: Zea babe

Sure thing, babe. I'll be there but for now I'll stay here muna sa SCO, I'll be rehearsing my speech. Take care on your way here! love you!

Alright, love you too, babe.

Pagkatapos kong makita ang reply niya ay agad kong ipinatong ang phone ko sa bakateng espasyo sa tabi ko at nagsimula nang magkabisado ng speech ko.

Minutes later, napahinto ako sa pagrerehearse nang maramdaman ko ang pagpasok ng SC adviser namin na si Ma'am Sandra.

She greeted me with a smile before she settled herself beside me, i was sitting on the sofa dito lobby ng SC office, habang nagpapractice ng speech ko.

"Oh, Alyzea dear, I'll remind you about your speech later, para sa welcoming program natin mamaya. How's your speech pala? Do you need help? " I gently shook my head before I let out a smile. I've been preparing for this for almost 2 weeks now, I'm more than ready.

"Yes, Ma'am. I am more than ready and Thank you, Ma'am but I'm all good." I held up the paper i was holding before I shake it in the mid air, she nodded in response as she headed inside the SC office, where all our cubicles & files are located. I was about to follow her inside when I heard a faint knocking sound on the door. I headed towards the door first to check sino ba 'yong kumakatok na 'yon.

My eyes widen as I saw the tall figure standing in front of me.

It's Geo

my soon-to-be ex-boyfriend.

I smiled at him as he approached me and leaned down to give my cheek a quick peck before he flashed his signature smile.

"I was waiting for you sa labas kanina." he started which made me panicked, nalimutan ko nga that we're supposed to meet. I checked the time on my phone

6:30 am. He was waiting for 30 mins na, I totally got lost of track of time sa pagrerehearse ng speech ko.

"I'm sorry." trust me, this apology had 2 purposes.

"No need, alam kong dami mong ginagawa ngayon, Zea."

"What is it that you want to tell me, babe?"

I smiled first bago ko hatakin yung kamay niya para lumabas kami ng SC Office, wala pa namang tao sa hallway kaya pwede na kaming magusap rito.

Few days prior to this day, I told him na may mahalaga kaming paguusapan. I gathered all my strength for this day. I inhaled deeply before letting out a sigh.

It's time.

"It won't work out anymore, Geo. I tried loving you pero hindi ko kaya, there's something inside me that tells me na hindi pa ako handa." nangingilid ang aking mga luha habang nagpapaliwag ako kay Geo na kailangan na naming tapusin ang relasyon namin. Napatingin ako sa kanya at halata sa namumula niyang tenga na nagpipigil na lamang siya at onting kanti nalamang ay sasabog na.

Opps, as if I care. it was just my usual line that I use just to break up with my all of my boytoyfriends.

Shocking?

Hah. i know.

"I knew it. Dapat naniwala talaga ako sa kanila." natatawang sabi ni Geo habang nanlilisik ang mga matang nakatingin sa akin. As if namang matatakot ako sa'yo.

"Naniniwala sa kanila?" Pag-mamaangmaangan kong sagot, alam ko naman kung ano 'yong balitang nakarating sa kanya, I just want to make sure na tama, I might even correct it kapag wrong info, pagchichismisan nalang nga kasi ako, mali mali pa.

"Stop acting like you're innocent, Alyzea. I know you just treated me like I'm one of your boy toy." I mentally grinned, tama naman pala yung info na nakakarating sa kanila, good to know. pero hindi ko pa din aaminin na ganiyan nga ako. Nobody would believe it kahit obvious na, lalo na mga matatanda —meaning mga teachers at principal namin.

I looked at him before I innocently shook my head. "I-I am not!" padiin at kaunting pasigaw kong sabi, I can't shout here, nasa may tapat lang kami ng SC Office, baka marinig kami ni Ma'am Sandra. Nangingilid na mga luha kong sabi. "Mas naniniwala ka sa kanila, Geo. Ako itong nakasama mo ng ilang buwan. I cannot believe you!" I walked out on him, i could heard him calling me pero hindi ko na siya muling nilingon pa.

Nandito na ako sa backstage, dito ako dumiretso after that 'tearful' conversation ko with now my ex boyfriend, Geo.

"Alyzea!" oh god not again. I looked at the direction where that voice came from, there he was, standing behind the closed door na apparently he locked after he went inside. He strides towards me, from the looks of him, he was fuming mad. Kitang kita sa mga mata niya.

"Hindi ako papayag sa break up na 'to. If you don't love me anymore, I will still stay, Alyzea." He was holding my hand for the whole time na sinasabi niya 'to. Dama mo yung sakit at kagustuhan niyang manatili.

"No.." ito na lang ang tanging lumabas sa bibig ko. Sa totoo lang ito ang unang pagkakataon na ginanito ako, sa iba if tapos na, tapos na.

"Please, Alyzea. Please, Stay." He looked at me as  if he's willing to shed a tear, he was holding my shoulders tight as he was looking straight into my eyes.

This is the pain.

Ramdam ko yung sakit sa bawat salitang binibitawan niya.

but meh, as if I truly care about him.

"It won't work anymore. I'm sorry." biglang bumagsak ang kanyang mga kamay mula sa shoulders ko. Kitang kita yung sakit at disappointment sa mata niya. He was about to say something pero ang tunog at boses ni Ma'am Sandra ang pumukaw ng attention ko.

"Please welcome, Our school year's Student Council President from 4th Year, St. Lander, Miss. Alyzea Zandrine Del Fuego."

and the good girl Alyzea is back.
