Epilogue

(2 years later)
*Spencer POV*
Well Sophie and I had a girl. We named her Isabella Trinity in remembrance of Trinity. Joey and Jewel had a boy and named him Tristan Patrick since it was the closest name for a boy to Trinity. Chad and Fallon adopted two more kids. A boy who is 5 named Michael James and a girl who is 12 named Dawn Grace. Caleb and Kelsey still only have Emmett. Katy is back in Ohio with Joe's parents and Carter is still with Joey. Anthem lights has been going good and ever since we've released Painted Skies we've grown. We've gone on tour and to many new places. Right now we are all at Joey's celebrating Carter's 2nd birthday.
"Uncle Spencer" Michael yells
"Yes" I ask
"Can you come play with me? Dawn won't" he says
"Sure bud." I say
I pass Trinity off to Sophie and go over to him. We go downstairs to the play room and it's a mess.
"Hey Michael where is your sister" I ask
"I don't know. She's always with daddy though" he says
"Ok. Well how about we clean up down here so uncle Joey doesn't have to do it later." I ask
"No. We play" he says
"Alright. What should we play" I ask
"Rockstar" he says
"Has daddy been teaching you to sing" I ask
"Yes" he says
"Ok. What do I do" I ask
"You sing. And I play drums like uncle Joey" he says
I nod and we go over to the mini stage set Joey has. Michael goes over to the drums and sit down. And I grab a mic and start singing. Michael does too then starts playing the drums. We finish and I hear exaggerated clapping. I look up and see the three guys and Carter, Tristan, and Emmett.
"Wow Spence that's the greatest we have yet heard you sing. Maybe you should do that at every concert" Chad says
"Haha. Very funny" I say
"Daddy" Michael cheers
Chad quickly passes Carter over to Joey and then catches Michael as he jumps into his arms.
"Hey bud. Ready for some cake" Chad asks
"Yes" Michael says
We all go upstairs and to the dining room. Joey sets Carter in the high chair and Jewel brings the cake out. As we sing Joey makes sure Carter doesn't touch the candles that are lit. Once we finish singing Carter blows them out with the help of Michael.
"Hey Chad doesn't this also mark a year since these two have lived with you" Joey asks
"Yeah" Chad says
"Can we eat cake now" Michael asks
"Yeah. Joe can you go get Carter's small cake before he messes up this one" Jewel asks
"Yeah" he says
He passes Tristan over to Kelsey and goes to the kitchen. He comes back with a cake in his hands. Jewel picks up the bigger one and puts it on the table. Joey sets the smaller one on the tray.
"Joseph don't you dare" Jewel says
I look at Joey and see him hold the back of Carter's head. He smirks and gently pushes Carter's head into the cake. Carter then looks up and smiles covered in red icing.
"Dadda" Carter squeals
"Hey buddy" Joey laughs
Jewel glares at Joey and he instantly stops. We all laugh.
"Dada share" Carter says
"No bubba. That's yours" I say
I pull my phone out and text Jewel.
S-does Carter's cake have dairy free icing
J-no. But there's a third cake in the kitchen with some.
I put my phone away and drag Chad with me to the kitchen.
"What" he asks
"Time for Joey's face in a cake" I say
He looks at me and I point to the cake on the table. He picks it up and we walk to the dining room. I give Jewel a thumbs up and she starts talking to Joey. They get in a deep conversation when Chad places the cake on the table and smashes Joey's face into it.
"Chadwick" Joey yells
"Dada cake" Carter laughs
"Yeah buddy cake" Joey laughs
"Dada" Izzy gurgles
I take her from Sophie and hold her in my arms.
"Hey princess" I smile
I then hear fake crying. I look up and the guys are pretending to wipe tears away.
"Oh this is so beautiful" Chad says
"Our little Spencer is growing up" Joey says
"It feels like just yesterday he was saying his ABC's" Caleb says
I shake my head at them and go to the living room.
"Awe Spencer come back here" Fallon yells
I ignore them and keep walking. I get to the living room and Dawn is sitting on the couch reading a book.
"What book are you reading" I ask
"Rodzina" she whispers
"What is it" I ask
"Orphans in the dust bowl. It's historical fiction" she whispers again
As you can tell she's very quiet. She's not really close to anyone but if I had to choose one it would probably be Joey. Joey just has a good connection with these type of kids. And by these types I mean the ones who have very troubled pasts and have gone through a lot.
"Why aren't you back there with everyone having fun" I ask
She just shrugs her shoulders. I sit down on the couch next to her and motion for her to slide closer to me. She does.
"You wanna hold her" I ask
"No. I'm good" she says
"You sure you have only held her once and that's because Chad made you. She's almost one now" I say
"I'm good" she says 
"What about Tristan? He's barely three months old" I say
"No" she says
I place Izzy  on the floor and take Dawns book away. I mark the page and set the book on the table.
"Now how about you tell me what's wrong" I ask
"Does it get any easier" she asks
"Does what get any easier" I ask
"The pain and troubles" she says
"Eventually it does. It takes awhile but took Trinity awhile but she opened up to us and we helped her through it." I say
"You all talk about her like she's really special to all of you. Who was she" she asks
"She was adopted by Chad and Fallon. Joey and Jewel met her and then Joey saved her from her foster family. Joey was going to adopt her but it was taking forever and then Chad and Fallon were interested in adopting her since she was already staying with them. She was 7 and very energetic. But she died two years ago due to a heart problem. That's why Izzy's middle name is Trinity and Tristan is named Tristan. It's in honor of her" I say
"Oh she says
"Dawn come here" Chad says
She stands up and goes to the dining room. I pick Izzy up and go to the dining room as well. Izzy yawns and lays her head on my shoulder.
"Spence we should get home so she can nap" Sophie says
"You can use Tristan's crib" Jewel says
"Yeah stay and hang out with all of us." Caleb says
"Fine" Sophie says
I go upstairs with Izzy and the diaper bag. I change her diaper then place her in the crib. I turn the light off and turn on the baby monitor. I go back downstairs and see Dawn in the kitchen washing her hands and face.
"What happened" I ask
"Joey smashed my face in the rest of the cake. And I couldn't get him back because the dairy free one was gone" she sighs
"Come here" I say
She turns around and I lead her to the fridge. I take out a bowl and give it to her. I then grab an aluminum pie tin.
"What are we doing" she asks
I ignore her and put what was in the bowl in the tin.
"This is dairy free whip cream. You can smash it in his face" I say
She smiles and takes it from me. She goes to the dining room and smashes it straight in Joey's face and laughs. everyone laughs as well. I go over to Sophie and wrap my arm around her waist and kiss her cheek.
"No pda" Joey yells
"What do you can do it but I can't" I ask
"Not in my house you can't. Or at the office. I thought we made that a rule at the office? No Sophie and Spencer pda" Joey says
"Whatever" Sophie says
"Oh yeah Sophie how is your job going at the hospital" Kelsey asks
"Good and thanks Joey for getting me the job" Sophie says
"No problem. My mom is friends with the main doctor there and a few other people there." Joey says
Now this is family. When we can all get together and just have a lot of fun even when we're being crazy. I kiss Sophie's cheek again. I'm waiting for someone to hit me but nothing does.
"What was that for" she whispers
"For being you. And letting me be me" I say
"Awe how adorable" Fallon squeals
Chad groans but Fallon glares at him. He laughs and kisses her forehead. I'm brought out of my thoughts by crying from the baby monitor in my back pocket.
"Hey Dawn can you go up and get Izzy up from her nap" I ask
"No" she says
"Please" I beg
"I guess" she whispers
She walks away and goes upstairs. I then hear the door opening and her going in. Everyone stays quiet and I turn the volume up some.
"Hey Izzy" we hear
Izzy cries
"Hey there's no need to cry. Awe come on stop crying. Uncle spence is going to kill me if you don't stop." She says
Chad and I look at each other. That's the first time she has ever called one of us Uncle. She doesn't even call Fallon and Chad Mom and Dad.
I turn the monitor off and we all go back to talking. Dawn comes down and hands Izzy to me.
"Well it's getting late we're heading home" Sophie says
We say bye and go to the car. We get home and go inside. The rest of the night we watch movies, eat dinner, then head to bed.
"Hey spence" Sophie says
"Yeah" I ask
"I'm glad you got the gumption to ask me out" she says
"Same. I'm glad I fell for my best friend" I say
I peck her lips and drift off to sleep.
